MrEcho - I love what you did. Absolutely awesome - that's a great comparison to Dylan and YES I would love to see the Stones do a set like this. Yes not all the songs are great, but that's the mark of a "real" active live band.

It Will - and yes, Physical Graffiti is Zeppelin's best album as well (although as I mentioned, Sticky Fingers is the Stones best album).

To me, Exile is unique in the Stones body of work, in that it's actually a piece of "work". I love almost all the Stones albums but they're largely great collection of songs. Exile is more a piece of work. You listen to it from start to finish and it flows - ebbs and flows in an incredible way (like Dark Side of the Moon in a sense). You don't take individual songs ou

I wish the Stones would release a new album and time it so it has little competition so they can finish out with another #1 album in the States. They haven't had one since Tattoo You. And you can say what you want, but the Stones would love another #1 album here. I'm sure it bothers them immensely that virtually every Springsteen, U2 album gets to #1 and other "top" classic

So nice and refreshing to hear Mick talk openly and honestly with passion about his work. So used to him acting like he doesn't remember anything or even what album a song is on. Mick is a creative genius.

Actually I love the Stones way more than any band, including U2 and Springsteen. I'm just "jeolous" in a sense of what U2 and Springsteen have been able to do. Work incredibly hard, take their time and pride and put out valid new releases that the fans actually like and look forward to hearing. I'm jeolous that the Stones are unable, or unwilling to have been able to do tha

Its an amazing thing to me as well, that The Stones have never been an enormously selling band. They have so many albums and almost all have sold well, so it adds up to a lot, but individually, they don't sell anywhere as near as Beatles, Floyd, Zeppelin etc. Even in their heyday. I was a huge fan of the Stones starting in the early 70's and Exile was not a big seller, Goat's He

Its a shame that the Stones should have to resort to cheap PR like Ellen to sell tickets as you suggest. U2 sold out 8 nights at MSG in NY with no PR, and no advertising/billboards. That's what happens when you're an active band, continuing to give a great effort and release terrific new albums versus a never ending tour of playing the same hits over and over again with a few bonus ra

Wow Wow Wow - that staging is incredible. Totally unique - I've never seen a screen like that in the middle of the arena - pure genius. And amazing setlist - very heavy on their new album and lots of deep cuts. I think people on this board just want to knock them for anything. Oh and 8 sold out nights and MSG. So depressing for me to say, but they took the worlds greatest band title fro

Undercover is a Great album if you're a Stones fan vs you'd have to be a truly dedicated Stones fan to like virtually anything on Dirty Work (except for One Hit (to The Body) which is truly an awesome track and one of the best opening songs on any Stones album.

Do you agree to a certain extent, and if so any regrets, with the criticism that The Stones have become like a heritage touring act playing the oldies instead of continuing to be an innovative, creative and truly active artist - like Springsteen and U2.

I think it's fun what you're doing with the Album Death Matches, but comparing song to song (in order) is not totally accurate to me. Song vs song in order, for me BtoB comes out ahead, yet I think Voodoo Lounge is a better album as a whole and I listen to it more than BtoB.

These were the first two Stones albums I ever bought when they originally came out. So to be they're both great and both classics. But I still have a soft spot for Goat's Head Soup, which I think is an underrated classic. I think it has a great "mood" that carries through, sort of like Exile has it's own mood - groove. Personally I hold GHS up there with SF and Exile.

I played the hell out of Gimme Some Neck, perhaps because I was seeing and saw the New Barbarians show at Madison Square Garden back in 1979. Anyway i just went back and played it again. Still sounds great to me. I think it's still the best Ronnie solo album. I did forget his last album I Feel Like Playing. Actually it's also pretty strong, though didn't get too much turntable

I like the raw production of Gimme Some Neck. I think it's way superior to 1234, which to me sounds unfocused and sloppy in comparison

Out of Tears is a GREAT song. Streets Of Love could have been a great song if it's lyrics weren't so "aweful".

Funny, I remember that scene very clearly in CS Blues and it bugged me too. Hell it was 1972 and they had just done the album and he was acting so unsure like you said. Perhaps he's trying to act naive and very cool/distant except I don't buy it. I think Micks been running the show for a very long time and is involved in every decision. I think he puts 100% into everything he does,

Just gave the Japanese version a listen for the first time in so many years - and yes, it really is a great listen. I thought Mick's idea of releasing a live record of rarely (I believe he said at the time "never released live before) released live songs was a brilliant move. The cover was dreadful and probably put many potential buyers off, but its a great release. I never liked the

Hi - does anyone know whatever happened to the proposed Stones Duet's album from the last tour. If the Stones are not releasing one, is there a bootleg available of the best duets?

I don't know why Mick think's it's cute to pretend he doesn't know what songs are on what albums, or what albums followed another album. At least I hope he's pretending. I'm sure Mick runs the show, heavily involved in every aspect of The Stones - so why not act it. "Fans" not in the know would have more respect for Mick. You know Springsteen and U2 kno

The tragedy of the Rolling Stones is that Mick Jagger is right. If they played Sticky Fingers in their entirety a large percentage of the audience would be bored, not know the songs and go for beer and leave disappointed. Of course real Stones fans like myself would LOVE to see it performed and not be bored for a second. But unlike Springsteen who plays full albums, deep cuts etc and his fans

I'll add one more thing. I love The Who. One of the greatest groups of all time. But it drives me crazy that The Who celebrate 50 years now. Bullshit. They've released one album since 1982 but touring ever since. It's not fair. Throughout that time, I critized the Who and would point out that The Stones never stopped - still produced new music and toured for it. Now I eat h

Perhaps I'm not expressing myself well. I'm so disappointed that since 1997, the Stones have released two studio albums. Two albums in 18 years, but as a touring entity, they've been very active throughout that same period of time. Sure they're still passionate on stage, and Jagger is still the greatest front man - even now. I agree. But I grew up with the band. We'

I'm not saying that seeing the Stones these last 10 years is not an enjoyable experience. It's fun seeing JJ Flash, Satisfaction and the warhorses. But as I diehard Stones fan, sorry If I feels its so damn predictable. I remember '75 (no you can enjoy it with the new release) but it focused on new material, '78 obviously was all about the great new Some Girls album, '8

Interesting what Maindefender wrote that he left the show to watch a hockey game. I've seen every Stones tour since 1975 except the last US tour because....wasn't worth it to me...so expensive and predictable. I'm a huge Stones fan - over 300 albums (imports, collectors items etc) and still listen to them all the time. I find people very defensive on this website but I can'
