one more vote against John's voice. Lots of good stuff marred IMO by his voice.

Mick Taylor was there for the 50th......the band probably does not want to bother to pay him as he does not put asses in seats by their estimation. It is the chuck n daryll band anyway.

leeds and roundhouse as well as various outtakes have been around for ages. an extended version of sway with the outro solo elongated would have been great

in his book Ronnie, Ron Wood talks about Freddie as a scary guy...forcing pills into Ronnie mouth etc...bad dude. the LV coke thing sent him packing as I recall.

dead guys have that weird floppy pulse..one can see it in the right arm of wier above versus mayer...dead style guitar players don't damp or play chord partials enough and instead strum through the whole chords every time.. that is in part why their Chuck Berry type stuff sucks ass. gimme bill charlie n keith or Sly n Family Stone of James Brown any day I love a solid pulse and the

I stand corrected...deluxes are a bit LOUD for the small space in which I play. I use a 40 marshall and a vox ac30 top boost along with some smaller fenders and gibsons down there.

Neil Young uses a 63 princeton not a champ if I recall. Play like the old blues guys did...amp opened up and then control volume with teh guitar rhythm 5, leads 10. I loved the live sounds through 82.

the early Muddy Waters Jimmy Rodgers stuff as well as the guitars behind Little Walter are the inspiration for this style of interplay. Muddy's record I'm Ready which is from the 70s has a ton of some the best of this stuff IMO

the US tour amps that did not go back to England since shipping was too costly are around now and then.. that is the sound. on record some of it has to do with the gear used to record the boys. I have not yet read Glyn's book since I am getting it for xmas but there may be insights there as well. those serious tube compressors add much drive and warmth but it was hot hot pickups into roa
