Gregg Rzab who played with Page and the Black Crows as well as Buddy Guy auditioned.....he is still short enough to blend in with the boys. Willie Weeks would have been my top choice. I think he was with Vince Gill at the time. He was off the road after his wife died so he could raise his kid(s).

Keith played street fighting man in open E back then didn't he? later Sweet Virginia was standard tuning capoed at the second fret. I'd need to see pics of his left hand actually fretting a chord to tell for sure what is going on.

no this is a scam like that stupid fake pic of two black guys and everyone said it was RJ and Johnny Shines even after Johnny said that was bullshit and people finally noticed the pic was actually two pics. there is supposed to be a third pic and Mack McCormack had it and he just died this past month with his archives in flux.

growing up in chicago going to Bulls games in the seventies there was an old black dude that sat near us and he drank vodka and orange crush. He taught me to read the game.. I am a vodka guy but I never liked that much soda or mixer, just a splash and then yes those are hard to drink in a large quantity maybe four pints at best before the motor skills turn to shit.

I have come to dislike the heavy saturation of the Boogie lead channels. I have been playing a princeton and a small marshall on an a/b switch

the Charlie one was interesting if only for the lack of rock n roll and blues.

I am aware Keith loved Muddy....I became a Stones fan because I was a Muddy fan and heard them do Can't be satisfied. I play a ton of Muddy's songs (whether he wrote em or not). I am a chess record freak that in no way means Keith's mixed up stories do not deserve to be called out. I prefer the truth I guess.

Ron Wood tells the story of being at the hyde park 69 show..that too is nonsense. He was in Detroit with Jeff beck that day. old guys "fixing" stories to spice em up..nothing new but when it is supposed to be history it is a bit uglier

both of Keith's muddy stories have been debunked. He did not wake up at Wolf's after hanging at Muddys. I also am sick of Buddy Guy getting it wrong about Wolf being on Shindig. BUddy always says it was Muddy. It was Howlin Wolf. the best stuff IMO was checking out the gear and the idea that the focus was on music history rather than image/druggy crap. I sure have found lots of

I play MSL in open E.. it falls under the strings far more elegantly that way. Perhaps he did not. I know later in life he mostly used standard tuning like Jeff Beck Mick taylor or Adrain Belew do. I do that a bit but I like open e and open G more...I am a blues guy. I'd have to go back and listen with a guitar on to pick up which tunes SEEM more likely to have been played in Open E

George played slide in Open E and standard tuning. HE played into a tube compressor no amp and into the board. This is the same sort of thing Lowell George did...GH is simply not a blues based player but rather a moldy based player with indian roots. I've played slide for decades and George's moves are very unusual for someone like me who came up studying Elmore James Son Hose and M

I always like to know what Keith has been listening to lately I would not have come across people like Derrick Harriot without that sort of question. I would only ask music questions.
