The other song was I Saw The Light, which Johnny recorded specifically for the episode. The I Saw The Light is the Hank Williams tune, not Todd Rungren by the way. There's only one other instance of Cash returning it, and that was on The Survivors album with Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.

Don't forget, guys, she was brilliant in the theatre. Her Medea by Euripides was brilliant. I saw it when I was doing my Classics degree, and she was amazing. She also appeared in a great Dr Who with her daughter, Rachael Stirling, highlighting that talent, in some instances, is genetic. Also, not forgetting a throughly underrated film, from the 1970s, Theatre of Blood with Vincent Pr

They murdered Little Red Rooster on Dead Set. I prefer their country / folk stuff. When it gets to the blues, or blues-based rock, the Dead are lacking.

I'm really looking forward to Wildflower reissued: I'm plumbing for the 5 disc set. It will set me back £140 but I love this album, and its production. It's so much better than Full Moon Fever, and the Rick Rubin influence also worked on the Johnny Cash American Recordings, made at the same time. Rick was significantly on a roll in that time, producing Wandering Spirit in 1993 f

2108 - Twickenham. Gold circle ticket. Loved it. Initially thought it was going to be not so great, but it really exceeded my expectations a thousand fold.

Quoteslewan I always felt it is a bit strange that multi-millionaires play SFM to to more or less wealthy audiences (including me) I think Elton John passed a similar comment to John Lennon and Yoko Ono, pertaining to "Imagine no possessions". At the time, Elton saw Yoko's wardrobe and a myriad of fur coats. He also heard that John and Yoko both invested in cattle in upstate New

I've got a great book by Dylan Jones, the editor of GQ, on Live Aid. I think most of the acts on both sides of the Atlantic were on coke during Live Aid, but at least Bob Dylan instigated Farm Aid by his remarks. Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp were paying attention, thankfully. For what it's worth, Bob at Farm Aid in 1985 was an awful lot better as he had a simpatico backing band

Nobody seems to mention his avant-garde improvisational album, End of The Game; it's a gem. Likewise, there's a preoccupation that he disappeared off the radar after Fleetwood Mac's Then Play On (1969-1970). That's totally untrue; he did some rather wonderful albums from 1979-1983, and then resumed with the Splinter Group in the late 90s. He still made some excellent music.

QuoteChrisMahavishnu I'm Chris, and i'm also a big fan of jazz fusion, in particular the work of John McLaughlin and his band the Mahavishnu Orchestra. What one ? The Billy Cobham, Rick Laird, Jerry Goodman era, or the post Trident Sessions, Apocalypse era ?

And yeah you can buy Brussels on cd without buying the expensive Japanese one, but you still have to buy the semi-expensive super deluxe cd set to get it. If you just want Brussels, probably be better off buying the Japanese Marquee show that includes it. jb The sad thing is I have the Japanese Marquee / Brussels deluxe, but still want a sing

QuoteRip This the dude commenting about Bowie being a degenerate says more about his ignorance than anything else.....times they are a changing. Agreed. I'd like to think that Cash, Dylan, The Beatles, Stones, etc broke down some of the appalling barriers people had musically, socially, politically, and intellectually.

There was an artist once, Eric Gill, who lived at the end of 19th Century and the beginning of the 20th Century. Gill Typesetting font is named after him. Anyway, 60 odd years after he passed away, it was found that he led a particularly, peculiarly disturbing lifestyle. It was alleged that he had numerous affairs with both men and women, and that he had incestuous relationships with his daugh
