Yeah, I didn't mean to be political but this really depressed me, and I really felt disappointed, upset, angry. So my apologies to BV, or anyone who feels I'm being contentious over this.

I don't know what I'm looking forward to more; the GHS reissue, or the new Dylan album, plus rumours of Infidels by Dylan being the next to get Bootleg Series treatment.

I always thought that III (minus Sofia Coppola, of course) is better than II I'd agree with LeonidP - Godfather III should have never been made it's that bad. I've always considered I and II as o

My swash was also well and truly buckled as I watched Master & Commander. I know a lot of people like Pirates of The Caribbean, but Master & Commander, with Russell Crowe and Paul Bethany, totally aces it. Why there were no sequels to it, bearing in mind Patrick O'Brian wrote a great deal of James Aubrey books, is beyond me ? It certainly highlights the dynamics of interpersonal r

QuoteLeonidP Quotetomcasagranda ...I also saw a mention of the Twilight Zone: I watched the original Nightmare at 20,000 Feet last week. William Shatner was a great actor in that, and it was from a great story by Richard Matheson. It is a great one! Shatner & Matheson (great story writer!!), both excellent! However did you ever see the Twilight Zone movie ... I think it came out sometime

Hey FWIW I watched Crawl last week on Sky Premier. I happened to enjoy it, albeit in a guilty pleasure way. It also reminded me of last year's Tough Mudder; I did an Obstacle Course Race, wherein one of the vents was based on Crawl without the alligators. However, I cannot imagine a horror movie based on Arctic Enema. I did that too at the Mudder.

Some great postings here; I'm about to watch Master And Commander, on Amazon Prime so hoping that's a good one. However, Marathon Man, Good Bad Ugly, Straw Dogs: all great films. I also saw a mention of the Twilight Zone: I watched the original Nightmare at 20,000 Feet last week. William Shatner was a great actor in that, and it was from a great story by Richard Matheson.

Erich Segal. The song was written in honour of him. He was a Classicist, and he also wrote the screenplay to Love Story (Ali MacGraw / Ryan O'Neil film). I read a book of his on Greek Tragedy many years back when I was at university. He was quite erudite, but not a Simon Goldhill or Oliver Taplin (Greek Tragedy experts when I was doing my degree).

Great that Charlie is doing this; greyhounds, post racing, make wonderful pets. More should adopt retired greyhounds.

It's Only Rock'n'Roll - Sweet Summer Sun version. For some unknown reason I happen to like the Havana Moon, Sweet Summer Sun albums. I'm probably in the minority, but I also think they're better than Bigger Bang era live albums.

I think Keith was preoccupied with Learning The Game, and two versions of that Buddy classic exist. When it comes to Van, I think Mick was a bigger fan, i.e Winter on Goats Head Soup.

BTW I could, on other occasions, throw in Bridges to Babylon. It's got some great songs, and a clear demarcation between Mick and Keith to good effect. Plus, a great blues in Might As Well Get Juiced.

It has to be Goats Head Soup. GHS has the right sense of post party comedown, and seems a natural successor to Sticky Fingers. I always maintain Exile On Main Street was a glorious anomaly, and not a successor to Sticky Fingers. Goats Head Soup is the Stones as mature artists, something they were unable to maintain, but Winter, Coming Down Again, 100 Years Ago, are so different, yet so good. T

5th listen, and I really like it. Been listening to a lot of The Stones in isolation, and Bowie. I often think I wonder what Bowie would've made of lockdown if he were alive today. Bearing in mind Drive-in Saturday is almost a lockdown song.

He did a guitarists album with Derek Trucks, John Scofield, Bill Frisell that I like. However, McCoy on A Love Supreme is transcendentally brilliant.

He played Christ far better than Jeffrey Hunter in King of Kings. He seemed more mercurial and unpredictable as Christ. He also played the Devil, and was the best thing in Needful Things, which remains an awful Stephen King novel, but an average film. However, I cannot help but laugh in that the sotto voce Brian Blessed is "Alive", and still trading off of 'Gordon's Ali
