RIP legend !! Spartacus wasn't really about a Thracian gladiator; it was more a metaphor for the McCarthy witch-hunts in the 50s. A great film, and a great actor, with a great screenplay by Dalton Trumbo.

Jerry Lee Lewis: Ride Me Down Easy. It's one of the best ever Billy Joe Shaver covers, and I say this not lightly, bearing in mind The Killer covered Bottom Dollar: Johnny Cash did Old Chunk of Coal, and Waylon's Honky Tonk Heroes album.

I have a Tag Heuer myself.......work bonus three years' ago, and an Apple Watch on contract with EE for half marathons, park runs, swims, 10kms, and gym workouts. Work bonus two years ago went on gold circle seats at Twickenham to get totally mind-blown on Midnight Rambler, though. Funnily enough, I never wore the watch as I wanted time to stand still and enjoy the boys in concert.

Quoteduke richardson QuoteThommie The best solo-album of any Stones-member! it really is a good one..but the best of any solo Stones albums.. hmm might give that to Ronnie's first one, he really knocked it out of the park on that one, "I've Got My Own Album To Do".. with a little help from his friends. any just my opinion Ronnie wasn't a Stone when he did Own Albu

Also covers Rain Fell Down from Bigger Bang, which is a bit of a surprise choice, but still a great cover.

Midnight Rambler every time; it shows that, no matter how much they may have diluted their sound post 1989, they, the Stones, are still the premier band, and head and shoulders above anyone else. Furthermore, Live With Me from 1969 live, through to 1971, 1994, etc evolves excellently. Other artists that changed their music live, and whom I enjoy, are Bob Dylan, Jerry Lee Lewis, Miles Davis, N

I love I Can't Be Satisfied. It's a great cover, and didn't thy return to it on the Bigger Bang tour rehearsals ? I also like Gregg Allman's cover of it too.

I loved the film, albeit Daniel Craig's southern accent was a tad off. But then, I'm used to Dick Van Dyke's cockernee in Mary Poppins, Donald Sutherland's Irish accent in The Eagle Has Landed, and Sean Conner's Irish in Derby O'Gill.

George Martin and the Stones wouldn't have been a good mix. Better that Martin produced The Beatles, Jeff Beck, and the second iteration of the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Funnily enough, I prefer his production on the Jeff Beck albums as to The Beatles.

QuoteLazarusSmith Quotetomcasagranda I've got two: 1) Merry Christmas Baby - Elvis Presley. 2) Christmas Oratorio - J S Bach, conducted by John Eliot Gardiner. you can't go wrong with gardiner on bach Agreed. Although I love Angela Hewitt's keyboard Bach.Keith Jarrett can be a bit annoying on Bach, as can Glenn Gould.

He seems the go-to guy for a lot of big acts, i.e David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, in addition to the Stones. I also like his guest appearances with Gov't Mule on a new year's live gig the Mule did in 1999, on Look Over Yonder's Wall.

I liked the tour (Urban Jungle) at the time, but listening to it I find an underwhelming experience. The Voodoo Lounge, Bridges, No Security tours are a lot more fun. Is it me, or is Steel Wheels just too keyboard-happy ?

I have 3 favourites - Goats Head Soup, Exile On Main Street, and Bridges to Babylon. Exile, though, has a sound of its own, and you can listen to it repeatedly and find something new in it. It's a bit like watching the Godfather Trilogy - great, but always something new. Goats Head is underrated, and is the comedown after Exile. It has a sound of its own, and is an interestingly underr

Those lyrics do not appear in Dylan's version. I think Dylan came out with "Your mother says that I'm a stranger, my face you'll never see no more". I think Jagger would've he
