I can think of some albums I like that have been maligned unjustly: 1) Bridges to Babylon - my 3rd favourite Stones album 2) Henry The Human Fly - Richard Thompson 3) Ragged Old Flag (album) - Johnny Cash 4) Metallica - Reload 5) Mighty like A Rose - Elvis Costello 6) Pink Cadillac - John Prine 7) Borderlord - Kris Kristofferson 8) Old Ways - Neil Young 9) Hard Nose The Highway - Van

QuoteHappy24 Quotetomcasagranda I can now empathise with Rosanne, as I thought music was, metaphorically speaking, a broad church. To refuse to accept David Bowie, or any other artist, due to difference is a little bit negative to say the very least. I like Johnny because he didn't have the redneck mentality, and accepted music, musicians, people broadly. I also like Bowie too for the same r

I don't know how true this is, but didn't John Lee Hooker enjoy the backstage booze a little too much ?

QuoteAquamarine Quotetomcasagranda I post on a Johnny Cash FB Page, as I love Johnny's music. As you're a Cash fan, I wondered if you'd seen this upcoming release and might be interested. " . . Touching on just about every song one would wish for him to play at a concert in 1973, the stacked set list includes choice guest appearances from both his wife June Carter Cash

QuoteMisterDDDD Welcome to a little slice of Rosanne Cash's world Rosanne has had to fight off fans of her dad's on social media and elsewhere (in person and print) on what they believe her dad would have though about everything from her music, to politics, to religion etc. Often. Have met her a few times, seen her many, and have read and heard her mention this phenomenon often. Yo

I say "Funny thing" but this was amazing. I post on a Johnny Cash FB Page, as I love Johnny's music. Anyway, the recent Cash reference was to Man In Black, the 1971 folky rock album and title track. I mentioned that, bearing in mind Cash wrote social protest tunes, was aware of man's inhumanity to man, that he and David Bowie would be aghast at the way the world is now.

There's only one set of winners in this court case, my learned friends, and that's the lawyers. Neither Johnny nor Amber are coming out of this very well.

I know what song Metallica would play as a tribute, though. Ecstasy of Gold. I don't think the Stones could do Ennio.

If you're feeling perverse there's a live stream of Tin Machine Live at La Cigalle in France available. Underrated band, and underrated era too.

Quotetommycharles +1 to all the mentions of Nassau. It rocks so hard. I’d say my favorites are 1. Nassau ‘76 2. A Reality Tour ‘03 3. Glastonbury 2000 4. Stage (2017 mix) Stage us a bit weird because the songs available elsewhere are generally better elsewhere. But it has some kickass versions of What In The World/Beauty And The Beast/Breaking Glass/etc. Thanks. Stage has a great ver

Liveandwell and Ouvrez are great showcases of an underrated period. I happen to love Heart's Filthy Lesson due to its appearance in Se7en, and I'm Afraid of Americans. I can mention some hard copy favourites of mine, i.e David Live, when he was on the cusp of the soul material. Likewise, John I'm Only Dancing Again, which is from the same period. However, in my opinion, the

Not better than the original, but here's Muddy giving something back to the boys with his cover on Electric Mud; an album I happen to like, which puts me in the minority I think.

It's funny in that I like the sound of the 1981/82 tour, not as much as 1978, but it's crunchy, and the guitars work well. The only thing I don't like about 80s Stones is Mick's vocals on some of Dirty Work. Undercover is an under-considered, underrated album with a great sound, and some great tunes on it. You can actually listen to it, and think this is a good album, a bi
