I always actually really enjoyed it. As mentioned, disc 2 is a really good song selection. I love Worried About You on here, so much so that I can't hear the studio version anymore. Monkey Man is great, Neighbours is excellent, Nearness Of You. There are alot of great tracks. Personally, the only flaw I see is with Rocks Off, which they cut out the climax for no reason, and if it was so bad

Not to say it won't be the Stones, but just saying that "Its only Rock and Roll" is a very common musical phrase. It could be referring to the stones, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if its just something they're saying as a sort of cliche statement and that we're just reading too much into it.

Quoteslew Rollingfreak - We did get 30 inches out here in Worcester. But yes the media is absolutley for lack of a better term retarded. Sorry my political correctness filter is off. Quite right. And yeah, apparently Boston, who was supposed to get the brunt of it, really didn't get as much, while places like Worcester, Connecticut, and I believe Long Island got a ton. Disappointing for yo

Elton John's first live album is just bass, piano, and drums, and its absolutely fantastic. You really don't even notice the guitar is missing.

Either Their Satanic Majesties Request or Between The Buttons. Probably Between The Buttons because there really isn't a bad track on there, but Their Satanic Majesties Request is an EXCELLENT album. Its really hard rock before there was hard rock when you listen to it these days. People weren't making music like that! Aside from the 7 minute Sing All Together and Gomper, I love every t

I love Schoolboys In Disgrace, and I knew they had other albums after that, but that was where I always stopped. Have heard of the album but nothing about it. I just figured it was a late era Kinks album, how good could it really be. Looks like I might be wrong. Sounds like maybe just an album that is great and many simply don't know about.

Looks good, although its hard not to think its just Al Pacino playing Phil Spector, but completely AS Al Pacino. Love Al, but at this point in his life, I find it hard to be believable in any role he's in. Saw him recently in the Merchant Of Venice on Broadway and he was excellent. Then I saw it with F Murray Abraham and he was OUTSTANDING. He just became the character, whereas it was Shyloc

It wasn't really forbidden from being able to see the Stones, I just didn't have a parent to go with. My mom saw them at MSG in 1975, but was never a huge Stones fan and certainly wouldn't go to one of their concerts now. It was one of those things in her 20s when she was cool. My dad is a huge fan, and for no reason at all never saw them until the Licks tour in 2002. The first

The riot strikes me as odd, because it seemed like such a silly thing to start a riot over. Unless the reason I've always heard was incorrect. But wasn't he pissed somebody in the crowd was taking his picture? It's not like they were bootlegging the

QuoteNoCode0680 QuoteRollingFreakThe same could pretty much be said about classic GNR period, where they HATED each other and still did excellent 3 hour shows. Ah. See, GNR are one of those bands who I enjoy their music, but don't know much about behind the scenes/off-stage stuff. I knew in the end they hated each other, but didn't know how they got along during their prime. I kno

I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor Swift ends up doing it soon. I agree they're running out of people that can actually do it and have enough global appeal but when you have someone like the Black Eyed Peas doing it, I think there are still options. I can't imagine them appeal to nearly as many people as those before and after them have.

I'm in the same boat. No interest whatsoever. I plan to listen to music and honestly I have work that needs to be done for tomorrow so most of my night will probably be spent on that. But I see it as any other Sunday so I don't really feel that bad about having to work. Yeah, it might be alittle different if my team the Giants were in it again like they were a few years ago, but even th

QuoteNoCode0680 Quotedoubledoor "No matter what people say, if you don't have a good off stage relationship with your band members, you can't do an excellent show." That statement is an opinion, hardly a fact. I disagree with it. Yeah, there have been bands that hated each other but got shit done. The Who rarely got along, Cream had a lot of tension, the period that is

Reading through the GNR forum I'm apart of and saw this post that I thought was pretty funny and wondering how people would dissect it over here. For some context, it was in a thread about whether the new members of GNR (the band Axl Rose has been touring with since the classic lineup broke up in the 90s) are considered "real members" now after so many years in the band. One of the

There's no news whatsoever of it being released. There are obviously rumors it will, but thats because everyone hopes it will be. There's nothing that says it 100% won't be, but there's nothing definitive yet saying it will be either. We kind of just have to wait, but the fact is these 50th anniversary shows were special and it would be highly unlikely that one of the London s

Quotegotdablouse You're joking right? I made the mistake of buying several of his solo albums and apart from the first one that's semi-decent, the rest is useless, as in songs with no hook, no melody, no lyrics of interest, almost as bad as Bill's solo stuff! Gilby Clarke on the other hand packed his first solo album with a lot of a good stuff. You are seriously the first person th

I personally love it. Its not without its flaws, but largely the first 9 songs are great. There is filler, and its too long, but it could be alot worse and I would contend as well that its overall their best since Some Girls or Tattoo You.

QuoteNoCode0680 Quotebackstreetboy1 mike love is a dip shit. I have only a vague notion of what went on behind the scenes with the Beach Boys, I'm sort of a casual fan. But I was doing some reading trying to see how Mike owned the name of the band and I came across some stuff about his lawsuits, and I think you're right. He sued Brian for something his father did, like 20 years afte

I feel kind of bad. Mike Love ripped Brian Wilson out of his solo career, which was doing fine and playing excellent live shows with the Wondermints. Now he's worried about all this Beach Boy stuff. He was past it and really doing what he wanted on his own finally. Yes, it would be nice if Jardine and Marks toured with Brian, but they shouldn't do a rival Beach Boys thing. As mentioned,
