Narcos and Narcos Mexico, on Netflix. Both Are outstanding. Quite a bit of subtitles (as much of the dialog is in Spanish) but well worth the effort - SO good

IMHO - if I had to pick one - I'd say Satisfaction is the greatest rock and roll song of all time. First heard it when I was about 5 years old, and that turned me onto music. I had to have that song - at 5! A couple favorite versions - the scene in Gimme Shelter with the whole 'and I need a good woman, to keep me Satisfied." And I think the Hyde Park Sweet Summer Sun version is

Quotekovach Will Japanese blurays play in all countries? I believe I have a few old foreign DVDs that won't play in my old made for U.S. DVD player, didn't know if any technological limitations apply to these. BluRays seems to be pretty generic - I've bought Japanese BluRays (Havana Moon I think?) and no issues. DVDs are more where they can have different regions. You should

QuoteSighunt Thank you all for your great recommendations. I spent a lot of today hearing samples of your album recommendations and I have to say that the Nassau show from 76 is my top pick so far. It rocks! (David Live is coming in at a close 2nd!) Nassau is my personal favorite. I'm a huge Bowie fan (saw him almost 60 times) and that 3/17/76 show (a few days before) in Boston is my favo

And Cymbaline? However, to fully appreciate this song you were relegated to unofficial recordings until the recent release of their massive Early Years box set. LOVE Cymbaline! Great song.

SHM, for those unfamiliar, refers to Super High Material. I'm not a techie or audiophile, but here's what little I know. These CDs, manufactured in Japan, are supposedly made of a better (super high) material, that 'can result' in better sound. They can be played on pretty much any CD player. Many go out of print, and fetch good $ on eBay. (Bowie being a good example). I&#

Not a 'movie', but I've been binge watching Narcos on Netflix. EXCELLENT. 1st 2 seasons are based on the search for Pablo Escobar (the guy who plays him is outstanding). Then S3 is about the Cali Cartel - not 'quite' as good, but still a fun watch. Then, I'm now on the 2nd season of Narcos Mexico, which is also great. Top notch characters, production values are

QUOTE: I think the most expendable song on Let It Bleed - and again it's blasphemy to suggest - is Country Honk. It's a re-tread of an already released song so why do it in the first place? Loving Cup would have fitted in beautifully after Love In Vain. But how much stronger do you want Let It Bleed to be? Getting off the original subject (and yes, Loving Cup is one of the greatest

QuoteMilan Johnny was the man. I saw him in 2008 and 2009. How I envy those who saw him in 1969-1993. one of the very 1st rock shows I ever saw - and I was literally not much more than 11 years old, but a rocker since I heard Satisfaction at the age of 5 - was around 1970 at the infamous Boston Tea Party. My older brother brought me to see Johnny Winter And (the lineup with a yet unknown Rick D

Not sure where to put this, but here is as good as any perhaps - but I am stunned to see Sir Paul McCartney still (now April 13) has dates listed for May and June in Europe. Also of note, open seating Golden Circle in front of the stage (at least for Barcelona show I looked at -are 'only' 158 Euro.). Unless I'm missing something, I'm just really surprised these have not been

I once saw a double bill of Jeff and Mahavishnu Orch in Boston. In fact, I think they did TWO shows the same day/night. McGlaughlin an amazing guitarist as well - saw him many times back then. Jeff still rates as #1 all time for me.

Yikes. Just reading on msn about CNN’s Chris Cuomo (younger Brother of NY Governor Andrew), who I watched Mon. night after hearing he had tested positive, but took a break from the news last night. Holy crap - scary stuff. Mon. he seemed OK as he did his show from his basement, but Tues night he said it hit him, ‘like somebody was beating me like a piñata’ and was shivering so much he broke a too

schillid - I was at that aborted Boston Who show. I didn't sneak backstage after though. :-) I do recall, and I'm pretty sure this is correct, that when they came back for the make up show, it was the one time I saw Townshend smash his guitar.

QuoteNikkei Ok there's Keef with the TV set what else To me, the best part of the film is certainly the concert sequences. Elsewise, how interesting is it watching Mick and Bianca hanging around getting ready to go out (and that's one of the more fun scenes in comparison!)? So while some of the live stuff may be similar to L&G, the scene with Mick and co. jamming w. Stevie Wonder

Yes, I saw Distant Sky, and the other two films (20,000 Days on Earth, and One More Time With Feeling). I've become quite the Nick convert over the past few years. He is awesome. Glad you got Seattle tix crholmstrom and good to hear that venue is on the smaller side. Boston, regrettably, is in a hockey rink - oh well, just happy I'll see him again. And like you said, to quote ano

There were also pre-sales yesterday (Wed.). As mentioned throughout this thread, Nick Cave is an amazing, intense artist (if perhaps a bit of an acquired taste). I just bought a ticket to his Boston show. Sadly, he has made the leap from theaters to the arenas (although this US tour does still have some smaller venues, like the Fox in Atlanta) - and I do worry a bit about how the MUCH quiete

re: Standard pricing on Rear Standing GA's still available, great value at $150ish imo. I agree with GA at rear of field being a great value, and for those that don't mind standing, a really good spot. Not being confined to a seat allows you to just rock out and have fun. And the sound is great there too. Did it for Foxboro last year, and had a blast. Bought them for Charlotte. I&
