I've only been to Louisville once (saw Roger Waters a couple years ago there), but it's a fun city. Assuming the horses are running, Churchill Downs (home of the Kentucky Derby) is a really fun way to spend a day. The Louisville Slugger Baseball Museum is a really great take for baseball fans (that's where they make the bats - but it's just really cool!). I didn't get t

QuoteHairball Quotekeefriff99 Do you have a chance to toss the seats back if you're unhappy with the location, or is it an "all or nothing" proposition? They hand you an envelope at a will call window, and that's it - good, bad, lucky, unlucky - but at the cheap price hard to complain if given the bad/unlucky, and reason to rejoice if given good/lucky. Yep - what Hairball

Some of their best shows were in Buffalo. I was at the ‘15 Buffalo snow and it was indeed fantastic. I still listen to it often - the Midnight Rambler was exceptional. Didn’t realize the stadium changed names again?

mlb code: DIAMOND Just got good Loge for Boston (it's in the Round) for less than I feared - $165 each including the fees. Floor seats and closer to center Loge though looked to be $250 PLUS fees.

Awesome. Interesting - other than San Diego and Vancouver, all listed so far are eastern half of US.

Quotekeefriff99 I've given up complaining about rappers and pop stars being inducted. I like most classic hip hop acts anyway, even though they don't technically belong there based on the NAME OF THE INSTITUTION. Maybe change the name of the Hall to the "Modern Music Hall of Fame"? That sounds dumb, but it would be a more accurate description of what the Hall has morphed

I have it on DVD but hadn’t watched it in years, so I dug it out again this past weekend and it was almost like seeing it for the first time. And I’m sure there’s been threads here about the film, but I couldn’t find one. The first half hour or so was totally baffling to me. I almost turned it off. But then Mick comes to the rescue, and then things do get interesting. And wow - it’s Mick at h

QuoteLil' Brian Deerhunter and Lana Del Rey were my favorites this year. How is Lana live? I like her, but am a bit surprised she is playing the arenas. Seems she might be better suited for a theater. She also gets a bit ‘samey’ after a bit- slow, slow. Wish she would rock it up just a little.

I’ve watched it a couple times - I think it's terrific but I do have a question: anyone have a theory as to why Pesci takes DeNiro’s glasses before he gets on the plane?

Yeah, Fiona Apple is good in this. Love her first album, and actually saw her open for the Stones, the one time I saw them at MSG. Another thing I was thinking about the Echo film after giving it some thought (and listening to some more Mama’s and Papas) is how easy and effortless they made those seemingly simple songs appear - but then when you see some of the cream of the crop of the younger

Thanks for all the responses. Ash - I'll check into that M&Ps set! And Loog, I agree the film did bring to mind Once Upon a Time... And it needs to be said - Michelle Phillips was a total babe!

Watched Echo in the Canyon on Netflix last night, the Jacob Dylan produced oDE to the mid-60s California sound, as elDEr hippies of yore (CS&N, Jackson Browne etc.) wax nostalgic about what a groovy time it was, and as the younger generation (Beck, Cat Power) look at amazement at old vinyl LPs as though finding ancient relics. Plays a bit like The Rutles ‘Can’t Buy Me Lunch’ at times, and th

QuoteBoognish QuoteDeanGoodman Nick is very powerful, no doubt. But he's no Iggy Pop. And Iggy Pop is no Nick Cave. Both amazing in their own way, But yeah, I've become a Nick convert over the past few years. He is intense, and immense. Ghosteen is stunning - but hard to listen to without crying! For those in Europe - try to see him on his just announced April/May dates. MAJOR tal

QuoteIrix QuoteGaetzi Where in Halifax did they play? Halifax Commons, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Saturday September 23, 2006 - . I went to the Halifax Bigger Bang tour. Fun time, but yeah - the weather (which often clears before they hit the stage) was crazy. Luckily it was the one BB show I sprung for the 'on-stage' tix, up above that stage, which 'Gimme Shelter.'

I visited Cape Town for my 60th back in May. It's a beautiful city! LOTS to do. Very safe. and cheap! Gorgeous winelands less than an hour north (Stellenbosch). Stunning. IF they play there, I'm tempted to return - for anyone that may have that on their radar, it's a spectacular place to visit!

Been giving the band Kaleo's album A/B a listen after seeing them open for the Stones at the AZ show. I usually skip openers whenever possible, but I saw most of their set and was really impressed. A bit of a Black Keys or maybe Kings of Leon kind of vibe, but I just really enjoyed their set - as I think most of the crowd did. This album (I think their only CD and actually from a few year

The Struts are a band on the rise that are in the same general ballpark - although maybe more Queen in both appearance and sound than the Stones.

Also on Floyd note, if you haven't seen - Roger Waters has a movie of the Us and Them Tour, showing I believe Oct. 2 and 6th. I saw the show a couple times, and it was perhaps even more amazing than the Wall tour, IMO. Not quite sure how a film is going to come close to the spectacle of the mid-arena screens that came down during the stunning Animals segment, (not to mention the incredible

On a somewhat related note, it's worth noting that sure, 15 or so of the (now) 19 songs are the same each night, in the 16 shows they've now played up through Phoenix, that band has played (by my count), 39 different songs this tour.

I also really enjoyed Kaleo - very impressive. Show #3 of this tour for me, and #39 overall. As usual, what can you say - Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World! I liked the Stadium too - almost felt more like a big arena, than a football stadium. Great few days in beautiful AZ (Monument Valley, a quick drive through the Grand Canyon, then a night in stunning Sedona). HOT though does not

Finally went to see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood which I had been looking forward to since ads and pics 1st started showing up months ago. Going to go against many of the rave reviews & comments I’ve seen, and say I was pretty disappointed. It has its moments, but it also has a lot of scenes that to me were just kind of - boring. Not a word I usually associate with Tarantino. And yeah - Le

QuoteHairball Or if they continue stadiums, maybe they should avoid Glendale and Arizona altogether- the poorest selling show since day one. Might bode well for those of us with Lucky Dips, but you never can tell. On a different note, decided to fly out to Phoenix from Burbank the day after the Pasadena show on a cheap flight and rent a car while there. Lots to see and do, and will make a d
