QuoteJumpinJackOLantern QuoteSend It To me the fact that their lazy asses are having a meeting next month means they're currently jerking around and not recording My guess is that Mick and Keith have been working on new songs since the first of the year - probably separately, but you never know. It will all come together in the spring. "all come together in the spring"...ok...I&#

Thanks for the heads-up on Robert Ardrey, stonesnow. Great covers! I'd heard of Social Contract before, but was thinking Rousseau Will keep an eye out for these books...you might like Guns, Germs and Steel, if you haven't already read it. Some of the premises seem the same. The natural selection part on plants was real interesting to me.

Quotestonesnow The only things about certain older men that attract certain younger women are the Darwinian factors of money and power--the equivalent of social status and security in the animal kingdom. That's why men who are rich and famous can marry beautiful women decades younger--something they wouldn't be able to do if they were janitors or ditch diggers. Nice work stonesnow; my

Lady Gaga deserves respect for "making it" and being in a position to be on stage with the Rolling Stones. Aside from that, she is a vapid Madonna protege. The Riverdance chick who sang Gimme Shelter was much better.

I'm in the per diem + expenses camp, maybe 10K total for the run. Those of you proposing that MJ and KR are suddenly gracious and "taking care" of MT are dreaming, IMO.

I was worried about being a negatron here after watching the Stones' anemic performance, but seems I'm not alone. Even Mick's self-serving comment about NY helping London if it "rains" was...disconnected. On a positive note, even as a lukewarm Springsteen fan, I got goosebumps from his performance. I thoroughly enjoyed Roger Waters. I liked Clapton in a trio. Macca p

QuoteJumpinJackOLantern Don Cherry Nice call I've been anticipating a Justin Bieber duet for a while. Just a matter of time, fingers x'd... Mannheim Steamroller on Run Run Rudolph would be the ultimate IMO. Yanni on synth would be great too, say on All Down the Line.

Chuck basher, let it go. Yes, Chuck is a nice guy, and a southern gentleman at that. That is relevant. Who wants an a-hole playing in the band? I don't. There are enough a-holes to go around. Chuck's magic is in his sublety. At this point, he might very well be the most important Rolling Stone. I have reason to believe that the band might be working on his arrangements for upcoming

Quoteproudmary fleabitmonkey - what a great pictures! This is the ONE of all the pics I've seen so far Thank you! +1 That is the greatest pic of all the shows. Also, thanks to bv, bleedingman and other eye witness reports from these shows. And bv, your blog about the practice session in Paris is great.

Quotegotdablouse Macca on IWBYM would be tops but yeah...will his head fit in? They'll probably let him get the last slot so that might help. Macca on bass, Mick Taylor on lead, with MJ, Keith and Charlie would be the DREAM.

It does coincide with their dates...if it's really a benefit, an altruistic thing, MJ politically would kinda have to take part, else seem like a real heel. New Yorkers would not take real kind to a benefit for Sandy not attended by rock's royalty, when they're raking it in on both sides of the event. The Daily News would pan them. Someone from the Stones will be there.

QuoteNaturalust Still a bit shaken by all the stage movement by MT, caught me by complete surprise. I think I like him standing still but with fingers burning up the fretboard. +1 Let's hope MT's (cameo) reinstatement settles him down a bit. Stage movement does not heighten his musical performance as we aficiandos know. Also, he should stand up straight. He's slouching like a t

Appreciate the Aerosmith update hb. As in the case with Keith, amazing what sobriety does. Cheap Trick and REO (Gary era) are in the top 10 American rock bands. REO's reign loosely followed Emo. Rescue and TTY. Hi Infidelty had as much impact as those Stones albums at the time, which were both great records, albeit the last great Stones records. Rick Nielsen and Robin have been

QuoteLong John Stoner Just curious- haven't we already reached the limit on Chuck-bashing threads? In psychology, this ^ ^ is called projection. This is a positive, good-vibes only thread. Question: if Chuck played cowbell alone in the woods, would it make a sound?

QuoteTurd On The Run Jagger is really singing again!!! The nasal twine is almost gone and his strong, supple is once again in evidence. You know, Turd, that's a really good point. Those vacuous affectations have magically disappeared. Maybe he reads IORR. I knew I liked his performance for a reason!!

Agreed 24FP, Daryl Jones does nothing for me on these shows. He's marking time as Keith would say, literally, watch his leg, non-stop moving on the beat, distracted from actual playing, not integrated with the nuances of the band. Next...

I'm gonna get flamed for this, and I've been trying to convince (deceive) myself it's not the case...but even though MT's appearance has full-circle symbolism, his playing, including dexterity, phrasing and musical sensibility has taken a huge hit. Something through the years really set this guy back. Even Keith has somewhat improved with relative sobriety, as others have
