QuoteStonesCat This site is the biggest by far, I would say, which leads to more positive and negative tones. Good to know we're in the right place Those of us who have been around a while remember things like organic, analog, inspiring performances. Lest I sound old, things have changed, not saying it's worse, just different. The analog years were just different. But the human race

Regarding other Stones sites, I've perused them in the past, but I guess I feel some loyalty to IORR since in 1995 one JMarko sent me some cassettes of Brussels and so much more (studio and live)...my first exposure to boots. I was on IORR back then on dial up, then disappeared for about 15 years. Plus, are the other boards as alternately euphoric and curmudgeonly as us?

It really was the greatest period for the Stones wasn't it? Magical times, and to think someone could have dragged me to Philly in '72...heck I would have remembered that at 6 years old. Also never got over that I had aunts and uncles who saw Elvis. Considering I went to Beatlemania in NYC in like 1976 or so, I could easily have seen the King. My dad pretty much despised Elvis. But

Those of you recent attendees who are feeling depressed about seeing them for the last time I think have nothing to worry about. Given health care advancements even to guys like Keith who smoke and tipple, I'm seeing this going for 7 more years, and IMO you'll see Mick J. performing with others well beyond that, into his 80s, maybe 90. I think Keith and Charlie, if all goes well, wi

True country ain't Ernest Tubb anymore, but obviously some know nothing about it if they think Brad Paisley is playing recycled Chuck Berry licks. Can't help ya if you don't know...even beyond that I find acts like Toby Keith more entertaining than listening to Hank, not to mention modern greats like the Kentucky bluegrass of Patty Loveless. Heck I even like Jason Aldean. And even

Some of you should probably get educated about country music, considering your supposed favorite rock band is heavily influenced by the genre. I like all the guest country picks by the Stones. Keep 'em coming. More is better.

QuoteThrylan Quotegotdablouse Quotebv QuoteThrylan Is that Win cat like 7 feet tall?!? Yes Had to look it up, being detail-oriented, and it turns out he's not quite that tall at 6'4½" (1m94) but the Stones being rather smallish (Mick officially 5'10/1m78...optimistic?) he kinda stood out! I was exaggerating, and MT was the only Stone ever over 6', but the dude loo

Enough of us Taylorites are noticing the inconsistent playing to warrant some credibility. I'm not buying the adventurous soloist taking time to find his way line. MT knows how to put chops together. I believe it's the insecurity of the dynamic he's dropped into. It's not quite natural. He's not an established member anymore, up on stage the whole show with his band. Rath

QuoteRockinJive Listen at 1:19. It makes no sense. Out of time and random notes that are out of key. WTF happened to this guy. He has totally lost it. Although "totally lost it" is harsh and untrue, I respect your listening here; inconsistent is more apt, as his off-tempo playing and inability to find his way is negating a lot of the good sections. Being "dropped in" for

1) I'm a huge MT fan. He's been real important to me. 2) I totally respect concert fans' enthusiasm for the Stones, shelling out hard-earned money, absorbing the energy. It's undeniable. However, to say one can't discern a great performance even through a compromised recording is just not true. I don't know where my Philly Special comes from, but the audio sucks—

The pics and attendees' reviews are great! The energy of actually being at a Stones show is incredible and trumps any observation from armchair critics like myself, commenting from the sidelines. Living in the moment is what it's all about. If MT played in an entirely wrong key and tempo, it would still be OK as long as the energy was up. Heck, Keith has played out of key many times

QuoteDandelionPowderman He's good on that Midnight Rambler version, though. Sure, it's nice to have him up there. I know 38 years have passed and things have changed, but I get uncomfortable when MT starts doing his RW routine, bouncing his leg, chumming up with everybody on stage. I realize he is just enjoying the moment, and that's great. But from a playing point of view, his

Based on the posts, I don't even need to watch the vids to reach my conclusion...last night was pivotal for MT, and if the consensus is less than glowing, and he's still having trouble "gelling" or even playing in the beat, I'm turning 180 to say the band is better overall without him. We all know that time changes things, and while MT certainly evolved musically over

I think tonight is pivotal regarding MT: will his role increase, or will he (with the exception of CYHMK L.A.) continue with insignificant rhythm and off-beat playing, which is just cluttering the sound? If it's the latter, I can't believe I"m saying this, but the band might be better without him at this point in the game.

Please tell me Justin B. is not singing with the band tonight. Please. If so, perhaps Keith could welcome him like he welcomed that fan who rushed the stage in...'83? Is Macca really a guest?

QuoteSweetThing Well, it was far more disjointed and fractured than the other versions I've seen on Youtube from this tour so far, but I enjoyed watching this one the most. Except for one shining moment of CYHMN in LA, "disjointed" does describe how the band sounds with MT. It just isn't working real well. Yes, his Moroccan touch to Satisfaction is interesting, but he's

Man if this doesn't melt your heart you got a heart of stone...just good vibes all around. Look at Tay-Tay approaching RW and Keith for a kiss in the end. Really nice. Keith seems to be intrigued at 1:49:

Refreshing to wake up on the east coast and find at least some open minded people here who concede that T. Swizzle's appearance was better than expected. Although she can't hold a note so well (nobody is perfect), it was an OK performance. I'm a Tay-Tay fan, as in when her song is on the radio, I listen, and I'll Google to check out her new tunes. Yes MAX MJ does look smitten here. As I said before, a prettier version of Marianne Faithful. Taylor is a beautiful girl. +1 JAZZBASS on lovin' some Tay-Tay and not being ashamed to admit it. Can't wait to hear/see this.

OMG Tay-Tay is the guest tonight?? I'm not being facetious when I say I was thinking about posting earlier how I'd like to see her with the Stones. To me, aside from her compulsive dating and subsequent fallouts, T.S. is the real deal. I absolutely cannot wait to see the video of this. Futhermore, Taylor is like 5'11", and might be perceived as an even prettier version of

Jimi was certainly more creative all around as a guitarist and songwriter, but Mick Taylor is incredibly lyrical as a player. I think there is a lot of anxiety here surrounding MT; people are becoming giddy and nervous about the unknown, and I suppose that's a normal response. I have a feeling that some hopes are being raised too high...but at least this tour will lay it out to bare.
