QuoteStones62 QuoteBlue .......... Keith Richards LOVES country music.. Indeed he does. 'Wild Horses' really showcases his county guitar chops as well. A beautiful, sublime solo that.

Quotekeefriffhard4life QuoteSleepy City Quotekeefriffhard4life i always thought eric did that with WAR and not the animals I did it with both. That clip is from the Monterey Pop Festival in '67 (which I've always considered a more impressive line-up than Woodstock). are you eric burdon lol? Good meeting you, Great job on House of the Rising Sun!

Love it!!! As Paint It, Black is my FAVORITE song by the Stones, and Eric does it true justice IMHO...The Animals were an outstanding group when it comes to getting down and gritty.

Yes... The video is pretty artistic! It's from back around 1986 or so and was supposed to be used for a film or documentary about Brian but it never occurred. Interesting lyrics to the song too, the singer of the group was intrigued by the life of Brian, and felt he had a "vision" or psychic encounter with Brian Jones...

QuoteSleepy City QuoteBlue Especially when I hear old Stones videos of "love in Vain" and the Animals "House of the Rising Sun" ... I agree totally, but they still didn't sound like Robert Johnson or Muddy Waters in the same way that (say) Billy Fury & Marty Wilde sounded like Elvis...which is a good thing! It's always more interesting when something new is m

When hearing Keith's harmonies with Mick on the BBC version, you wonder why they didn't use his voice more than they did for harmonies back in the day...(before his voice went sour) He really sounded great.

QuoteSleepy City QuoteBlue QuoteCome On ...or Can a black man really play the country? I've always found Charlie Pride's country music a bit bland & souless. Far better were Solomon Burke's & Ray Charles' interpretations, where they made something new & different out of it...just as most white men when they've played the blues. Yes,agreed that Charlie

Yes, you can see how the music was very similar...Exile seemed quite dark and depressing, everyone was coming out of the exciting sixties and it seems the music reflected that...I know Exile period is considered by many their best, and who could beat Mick Taylors beautiful slides from his time in

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteBlue Quotetreaclefingers I have them all, and they are must owns. Unbelievable sound, and great packaging. Yes, you can still find some titles at the big box retailers, as most people really don't buy from them, so they seem to sit as inventory for a very long time. As they are out of print, I think they're a little more expensive now online...don't

QuoteDragonSky They are out of print? That's ridiculous! Believe it or not, at Best Buy I found High Tide and Green Grass and at Walmart More Hot Rocks...both stores they were the last ones...my daughter got me Flowers on line somewhere, but I was shocked to see the other two at Best Buy and Walmart!

Yes... Dandelion and We Love You would of been perfect for TSMR, Child of the Moon must have been the last of the trippy toons and too hippy for Beggars Banquet, no place to put it except the B side of JJF. Didn't realize it was recorded after they already finished TSMR.

QuoteDragonSky No, just rock'n'roll. The Stones have never been 'hard rock'. That's more AC/DC etc than The Rolling Stones. That explains it well, thanx! It's Only Rock and Roll but I like it!

QuoteDragonSky To make you understand that TSMR should have been an EP without the crap tracks. And that Revolution Number Nine was just crap filler. Child of the Moon would have been a good addition to TSMR in place of Sing This All Together IMO... Its a pretty trippy toon.
