I'll be surprised if the sound surpasses that of this bootleg, even though it's mp3.
Ooooo now this looks nice!
Would love to get a boot if poss? Forum: Tell Me
When a good songs written & complete it doesnt mean the jobs done. It then normally gets cooked in as many ways as possible, diferent textures, styles, tempo's, structure before the final finished display of the song is ready, sometimes it just starts off right and seems easy, sometimes you've to try everything with it before you get what you need but that can take oodles & oodl Forum: Tell Me
Never listened to 'The Storm' before, what a great tune!
i think like this version more than the released version, sounds more woody/earthy & less processed drumwise Forum: Tell Me
well..
This a close one between Mick Taylor and ronnie wood era's
Taylor playing this live on the recent tours is one of the biggest what if's for me
2:10 - hear the emotion and push/pull dynamics from Taylor and Richards. Musical Orgasm Moment
For THIS song, i love the amps/guitars used in this youtube version. Primal!!!! Forum: Tell Me

I'm a bit unfamiliar but is there a High Quality boot of Mick Taylor's vlast 1970s gig with the stones?
At the time, although I worked in the south of England, my brother was an airline pilot working out of Berlin, so I had a free (yes, really!) way to get to Berlin.
So, I went over for this show and got pretty near th Forum: Tell Me

It's a live album from 1969. It sounds awesome.
But is it as good as the Brussel's Live album?
and no i dont mean the inferior 'official' Brussels Live Album release Forum: Tell Me

ah
I remember when the stones first mentioned Wyman and Taylor playing live with them again. Didnt Bill say something along the lines of 'he'd rehersed the tune for playing live, as it was abit of a standout bass track but never got the chance, but then heard Mick Jagger rave about Daryl playing it, (and right after Bill had left the stage)but that in Bill's opinion he scuffed/b Forum: Tell Me
Does anyone have any interview or article links about how mick taylor got to play on one of Keith Richards Album tracks? think he's the only stone who actually played on the album too?
great tune it is as well with some mean boogie piano and nice Taylor lead
Ive heard/read about the John Phillips Album whcih is pretty interesting. but know nothing about this
Any help gladly apprecia Forum: Tell Me
Taylor left because
1. he felt musically restricted, uncredited on songs etc and thought you know what. Keith looks f@cked, Im not gettin credit, I'm also lookin f@cked, i wanna try something new
2. wanted to be in a band as an equal rather than 'hired hand' ie writing etc
3. was a junkie and needed out for his health from a superstar band and hangers on and all that entai Forum: Tell Me

I seem to remember something about Mark Knopfler having some issues with Dylan during Infidels, seem to remember Knopfler not wanting to work with Dylan again.
Not "during" but when it was time to pick ttack for the final verison of "Infidels" Dylan ditched the masterpieces and kept all the drek (apart from album opener/locomotive "Jokerman" Forum: Tell Me

If those emotions Keith conveys with his acoustic don't get under your skin, that's your loss.
And nobody should tell me what a great lead player is or has to be. I know that already, thank you.
I also know that a one-dimensional view on solo guitar is limiting. Very limiting.
And there is a reason why the solo on the studio version of SFTD always gets a Forum: Tell Me

Wood is a great rhytham/lead chameleon player, but no great lead player.
Taylor's are quality musicianship that contain melody, rhythm and musical excellence - that doesn't mean 10000000 notes a second, just tasteful playing.
What you say about Wood is true. And that´s why he IS the perfect guitarist for the Stones. Your statement about MT is also true Forum: Tell Me
for me, clapton being on there is an acknowledgement that a quality lead player is lacking to ice the stones cake these days but that the mixture of the cake is still quality. Forum: Tell Me

To me they are both great, for different reasons
They are, but I think we're talking about big, screaming, ecstasy-inducing electric guitar solos.
When I think about the chills that STILL go up my back when I listen to the solos in Comfortably Numb or Stairway to Heaven for the thousandth time...I only get feeling that with the Stones from the MT Forum: Tell Me
