Quotebuttons67 last night i watched midnight rambler at the marquee 1971 as well as the warsaw version from 2018, and was far more impressed by the warsaw version, maybe it has something to do with the sound quality of the video on youtube, but it is so far my favourite post 1970 version of this song, maybe check out others later. Interesting viewpoint and probably not (completely) alone . But

It's becoming a great thread this for little nuggets of joy of Mick Taylor at assorted times. Thanks for the 82 Bluesbreaker link, loved it!

i wasnt against hearing told tracks 'finished' by the writer(s) as it's always ineteresting to hear what was possibly intended, (or even what the original paticipants could bring to revisiting it) BUT id want the 'original' demo/recording presented too. THAT would then make more presentational sense on with a boxset/expanded reissure, and also it may possibly have brou

Plundered my Soul wouldv been a great song to do on the 50 and counting tour, with mick taylor. I love it! Sadly as the strong rumours of it being a 'new/recently written' song derived from a short loop(s) of an exert from something/some jam from 40years ago (,its NEVER been mentioned in ANY boots) id imagine the time and effort of the band having to learn the parts, and then how to

Quotedmay Wow is right. Both versions are great, but for my taste, Green's playing and tone is sublime, the better of the two. Scroll down the Green link and check out Green and the Mac doing "Have You Ever Loved A Woman." Another tasty cut. Here's the link for it if ya just wanna get to it. Amazing thanks

Late to the party but Listened to Claptons version, brilliant Then this popped on and it's just blown my mind. what feel and tone from Peter Green. Amazing yearning/angry from Clapton, but the full spectrum from Green

The thing that strikes me with Solo Taylor, compared to Stones Taylor is the lack of a driving/dynamic blues band behind him when solo. The ebb and flow the stones both give, and feed off Taylor was/is great but his solo/slots outside them in general always seems abit 'quieter/tamer' dynamically. I never really get the sense of a mutual feeding off each other.

At the time there was a lot of heat to Taylor being 'insurance' for Keith. I'd never see him as replacement - Keith is irreplaceable. but i did get it that both Taylor & Woods could 'cover' for him. I've always felt Woods was always a more richards (i.e. riff rhythm) type of player rather than a taylor (virtuoso lead player). so it kinda made sense to have a supe

QuoteMassimo68 QuoteTheGreek Well IMHO, no live Stones recording has sounded as "big" than Brussels does .What a glorious rightful and very booming sound that Brussels has, never have a heard a more perfectly balanced really thick bottom end Bill Wyman

QuoteBluzDude QuoteDandelionPowderman Yeah, they're two different persons and musicians, so there is a difference Love the short and sweet Sticky Fingers Live-version, btw. Glastonbury not so much. Staples Center was way better, imo. I will always be grateful that I got to experience it live. I did get the feeling that Mick was trying to rush Taylor and Keys along during their solo

yeah granted both different types of players and your right the Staples version is also great - maybe a case of different horses for different courses. I think what i mean is Ronnie is a great rhythm player who really synch's superbly well with (and some would say live 'helps out')Keith, his lead playing is also great but for me not as much as his rhythm/lead style. I think that

i wanted to hear Taylor on the boot of the 2002 sessions. impossible for oooooooodles of reasons, but he would improve all the tracks with counter point playing Yeah - what a missed opportunity. Still, we heard CYHMK played proper and MR played like a monster. all the songs he played on live 2012 - 2014 sounded better for him being in amongst it, even as a sideman ala streets of love, slipping

Quote35love Yes, apart from the Hyde Park show. I guess I was thinking of a mix/ highlight of various songs Taylor guested on, but that’s not going to give us more than CYHMK, MR, Satisfaction, that’s it? 3 tunes? Hmm. Better get Taylor on some for 2018 to flesh my idea... (Ha Ha right now I’m dreaming ‘Plundered’ ‘Moonlight Mile’ ‘Times Waits No-one’ ‘Winter’ ‘Tops’) Never mind. he a

QuoteHairball QuoteRocky Dijon Thank you, PhillyFan. I had never seen that and don't recall reading about it at all. There were a number of great moments with the three of them from 2012 - 2014. What a shame we were denied full shows with all three guitarists. It's all speculation, of course, but I think it would have injected the much-missed spontaneity of the past even though no past

QuotePhillyFAN He actually played a stunning solo on Satisfaction in San Jose on the 50th tour. After that he was on acoustic. Great thanks! and so the hunt for a great qual youtube link begins Speaking of which. i came across a youtube vid where someone had compiled literally just Taylor solos from playing w/stones 2012/14. its about 7 mins long and where i heard a taylor solo in satisfactio

best soundin version on youtube IMO This version - the ORIGINAL Boot is how live music sounds when the stars align. The Official sounds like a computer, mixed for people who know nothing except how loud it is. sure you hear the kick and bottom end abit better but this one feels like a comfy jumper covered in bolder burns - everything fits and takes me to a place i know well. the new sounds lik
