QuoteLeonidP Proof exists ... what has Bill ever written that would remotely resemble JJF? Nothing. Keith, on the other hand ... you've got Satisfaction, SFM, etc. etc. Case closed. I guess its not too late then to slap a co-credit for Brian Jones onto Ruby Tuesday?

QuoteTurner68 QuoteSweetThing QuoteTurner68 QuoteDandelionPowderman YOU believe Bill wrote it. Even Charlie, who Bill claimed was working it with him says Mick and Keith wrote the song. I think some are trying to cause trouble, no one on this forum can seriously claim to know what happened. What we do have in the music business is a long history of lawsuits when proper credit is not given:

QuoteNaturalust Quotekleermaker Quotemtaylor QuoteRedhotcarpet Quotehowled Bill Wyman seems like a tool to me and he can't wait to tell everybody what he did with his tool. He didn't even play bass on JJF. As far as I know, Brian was with Stu and Mick was with Keith and they all joined up, so someone starting it is not it, it was a combining. Brian started the band. Sorry. Bill

QuoteTurner68 Here's the question I'm surprised isn't discussed more: should they have stopped when Bill quit? There is a video available on Youtube somewhere where Jagger is asked about what they are going to do since it appears Bill Wyman has left the band. Sadly, Jagger responds that "Well, you know, it shouldn't be too hard to replace the base player in the Rolling

QuoteMunichhilton Bill created a great foundation for the Stones music. He was no doubt surprised that when he ripped out that foundation it did nothing to the band. They did some foundation repair with Mr Jones and Suck On The Jugular was born... Don't be mad Bill. Bill, why you mad? There's an interview with Bill Wyman on Youtue, before he left the band, and Bill states plai

QuoteNaturalust He was obviously important to the whole process and finality of the songs but his contributions to the spark, arrangements, chord structure, melody and lyrics were minimal at best. peace I imagine you are correct about that, although in fairness to Bill, he did also mention apart from the JJF claim, just a random example of working out a small part with Mick Jagger and then st

QuoteTurner68 QuoteNaturalust QuoteDoomandGloom If he were half the business man that Wood is he'd have it all. Wood a businessman? I've always been under the impression the Stones have had to bail him out more than once. No doubt his painting and his touring income have helped his more recent success but I get the impression he leaves true business decisions and general such orches

QuoteGlimmerGirl24 QuoteThe Stones QuoteThe Worst. As long as those inside the stadium, the crowd present at the actual show, are satisfied, that is all that matters. That makes perfect sense to me. The average fan would probably be more than satisfied with that setlist. With that being said, we who are obsessed with the band will most certainly never be happy with pretty much whatever setlist

Quotedcba QuoteTurner68 i can almost hear the noodling all over Miss You now.. >< One might find there's little justice for MT. Let's take the late 70's period : with his 1st solo album Taylor tried to broaden his musical scope by bringing some sophistication to his music. It wasn't very successful. The Stones kept digging in the 3 chords/I-IV-V chord prog

Beastie Boys in early 80s. They were sort of punk, if I recall right. A lot of slam dancing among their early followers. ...some people got hurt that really weren't expecting what they got. Beasties were obnoxious on and off the stage, but not without a sense of humor. Relentlessly promoted themselves but not really taken seriously at that time... Around the same time White Lion opening

QuoteTurner68 Quotedcba Can we pour some gasoline on the ashes of this dying thread? I'll try : I never liked MT cause he used super-light gauge strings. A real guitarist uses a .010-046 or even better a .011-052 set of strings. i actually liked him better before i started reading this thread and seeing how his fans all think he makes or breaks the rolling stones. There was a time he

Quoteandrewt Everybody just cool out! I think one thread for Stones fans that wish Taylor could add to the legacy once more to vent is fine. I agree we should move past it in after-show reviews to save everyone time. Ronnie is great. Mick Taylor is great too. So the first guy, what was his name again? Listen, some people are just dreamers. Let 'em dream. P.S. good to see Ma

It does seem to have fallen out of favor, overall at least, in the "Classic Rock" ghetto format, but many good things have.... To my taste its unfortunate many good Stones tunes have gone the same route, but they're a victim of their longevity and the embarrassment of riches that is their catalog. Those radio stations aren't going to play 5 Stones tunes to every 1 for the Led

When I was a child, the Beatles and Supremes were what I heard on the radio and then a few years later Ruby Tuesday really stuck in my head. It seemed "Beatlesque" but of course it really wasn't. Beatles hadn't really done something like that... of course appreciated Satisfaction and JJF, but when Miss You and Some Girls came out it sealed the deal and I went back and bought a

Quotemarcovandereijk I may be old fashioned, but The Stones have one of the best singers/front men a Rock band can have. Let the Mick sing, the drummer play the drums, the guitar players play their guitars, the lighting and sound technicians do whatever they've always done. It's a Rolling Stones tour, not some kind of "Brittain's got talent" show. Its about when Mi

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotekammpberg I like the raw production of Gimme Some Neck. I think it's way superior to 1234, which to me sounds unfocused and sloppy in comparison They're both sloppy, but GSN is so muddy and the mix is so twisted that I can't enjoy it. The sound is below garage rehearsal quality. Seven Days is listenable, but the pedal steel cut through so awkwardl

Thank you for your perseverance in getting this uploaded so we can see it again Kleerie...Its second only to my favorite at The Staples Center. Keith was quoted at some point (not in regard to CYHMK) that if you want the best of Mick Taylor, you grab the first take. An exaggeration no doubt, but he's probably onto something.

It IS a good image..very vibrant no doubt
