Whitesnake started out as more of a blues based rock band but became more of a "hair band" when David Coverdale forced out the other original members and released the 1987 eponymous disc. The early albums aren't the least bit glammy.

Don't worry, they can easily rip off Poison without having to "cover" them.

I am not much of a Poison fan but I LOVE that song! I saw them twice (for free - they played down the street and the venue papered the house) and each time they opened with that song.

I am more interested in seeing the arrangements of the songs we know they will play shaken up than the actual content. But yeah, I think it would be great if they opened with the fastest new song on the new album, followed by all the warhorses they plan to play. Then Mick can say "Those of you who only want to hear the hits can get the hell out of here right now" then follow up with how

Sometimes anger can express itself in a brilliant performance! But the only theatre show I ever saw was Wiltern. I LOVE the Brixton bootleg though.

I listen to all sorts of stuff. Probably got a little STonesed out overdoing it on bootleg trading last tour but still pop something in at least once a week. Been listening to a lot of metal lately. Judas Priest was awesome last week and they are playing San Diego on my birthday!

I am sure its because of lowered guarantees in some markets they need to add more profitible gigs to the schedule. Other than fan setlist fantasies, there really is no reason why they would have to rehearse or prepare additional songs just because they are playing a different venue.

Farewell tours are lame, whether or not its really the last one.

The press wont savage them for empty seats, the only # that really matters is $$$$$$$

Sure the Joint counts as a legitimite theatre show if its in a theatre! I dont remember any setlist guarantees with the tickets. Basically they weren't considering that the people who spent $1000 on tickets werent so much die hard fans so hard core they would sell their children for another gig,but probably assumed (and rightfully so) that the people who spending $1000 on tickets were people

JEEZUS. Day of show is when you tell the broker what you are paying, not ask what they are selling for! They usually give leftover stock to scalpers with instructions to get what they can! Then again, anymore I tend to pay whatever I want to for concerts, not what the band wants to charge me. I guess the Stones will test that theory this year. After seeing them for free at Staples Center and a $3

Staples 10/31/02 was my first show that tour too. I went ticketless and had a very specific idea about where I wanted to sit. The box office didnt have anything acceptable at the moment. I walked around a bit and talked to people. I was on my way back to the box office when security escorted me off the property and told me I would be arrested for trespassing if I returned. The trained monkey was

If they play it, it wont be the first song but it will be the first song to be dropped.

I would bet at least some close seats are in the $500 range or more. The good news is this may allow for a few more cheap nosebleed seats and still make their guarantee though I wouldnt count on it. Keep in mind the Stones expect to be paid about 2.5-3 million every show and thats a figure thats been going up with every tour.

3227. Re: Tours
Brilliant marketing on their part and the illusion that a Stones tour is a rare event when in reality they don't really tour any less than any other band these days. The Stones are still my favorite band but I have seen them so many times that they are a much lower priority than some of the other anticipated tours for this fall. I hope they only play stadium dates in this area though so I ca

Saw them a few years ago at Sunset Junction. Quite possibly one of the worst bands I have ever seen.

Well, considering BTB and NS tour info is still on this site... If you want it all that bad, I would print it out now, in case the server gets taken out by a nuke or something.

2 weeks after the farewell Ramones show, I was at the Viper Room to see Wayne Kramer and a friend's band. I see Johnny Ramone go walking by. I say to my friend, "I think I just saw Johnny Ramone." We find him at a table. He signs autographs for us. We tell him we were at the last show, he starts asking us what our favorite and least favorite parts of the show were. My friend asks h

1) 1981 press conference was held at JFK Stadium. Mick only. 2) A stadium show in Seattle? They only sold about 18-19k for the Tacoma Dome and it was nowhere near a sellout. 3) If AC/DC really does open, the Stones set itself would be anti-climatic.

Their last album Twelve Shots On The Rocks is thee best rock n roll album of the 21st Century. Sleazy, solid and not a bad song. I had tickets to the key Club show and was probably going to go to Santa Ana and Vegas and was quite depressed when the gigs got cancelled. Michael Monroe's 1989 solo album "NOt Fakin' It" is also worth getting.

I definitely dont assume they are identical but I am tired of emailing asking about different DVDs. Thats annoying, unless its something I am desperate for, I am not really going to bother anymore. But I have done literally thousands of trades in my time and have had relatively few problems so I dont really sweat it. I dont even have PAL or NTSC on my list because my player automatically converts

Ever since I posted my DVD list I got about a dozen Stones trade lists without quality ratings. I have THOUSANDS of bootlegs in my collection. I am well past the point where I want anything and everything.

>so, someone hands you a pair of front-row tix to see the boys there and you'll refuse? yeah, right.... You offering...? Of course I would go for free, or even $10 or 20. But I am not paying $100 to sit in the back of a severely volume restricted venue (outdoors smack dab in the middle of a residential neighborhood). This place is absolutely unsuitable for rock n roll concerts.

The Hollywood Bowl is the absolute worst venue for rock concerts I have ever been to. I wouldnt go see the STones there and I only live about 6 or 7 miles away.

I think U2 is exactly where the Stones were in 81/89 - there is another generation of fans coming aboard.
