By the time I waited 40 minutes in the queue the Chicago Luck Dips were sold out.And then: Welcome to the era of "dynamic pricing" for concert tickets wherein the more tickets that are sold the higher the price of those remaining goes up. $500+ to sit alone in the rafters for the Stones? I don't think so.

For Tuesday I got two for $95 each. A partial row of them suddenly appeared. I bought two and the others apparently sold. What little is left elsewhere in the section are now "dynamically priced" at $365. Thank you American Express.

Meh! I'm going to roll the dice with lucky dips. Unless you're willing to cough up $800 per you're going to be sitting far away anyhow. Even with the $400 lower bowl seats you're just getting a better view of the video screen.

FAN-CLUB pre-sales, etc: It has been my experience that fan club pre-sales usually consist of a lot of back of the house tickets that might go begging later. Before TM instituted their recent queue system it was easy to look at tickets and put them back in hopes of finding a better pair. With the fan club pre-sales a pattern would form wherein less than desireable sections, typically on the fa

I've never understood the whining about KISS in the original line up.They were marginally talented and only wrote so-so songs too. I'm old enough to have scene them numerous times in the mid-'70s. They were the same then as now except now they have even more lights and pyro.

You can't take KISS seriously. They're like the circus coming to town - just crazy fun.

QuoteStonesfan13 So 16 may be the number now how about Detroit I think that would be great! No, they played Comerica last time. That tour was sort of "little big cities" like Detroit, Indy and Pittsburgh. This one appears to be all big cities where they haven't played in 4-5 years or more

A number of years ago I found a bunch of ABB outtakes in nearly finished form. They had yet to have the rough edges polished off and were excellent. In many cases better than the official album. I lost them and haven't been able to find them since. Can anyone help? Thank you! --- R

There's an American jam/experimental band called GHOSTLIGHT who do a righteous version if "100 Years Ago." They also do "Sway."

42 years ago I saw ELO play to less than a 1,000 people. This was before the hits came. The stage lights were all green and blue and half the show was on tape. I bought tickets for next summer as it appears they've upped their game. They play Move and Wilburys songs too.

I saw the Faces in Detroit on Valentines Day in '75 and the Stones in Cleveland the following June. I saw Zep in there somewhere too so it was a pretty good year but I digress. The Faces returned to the road with Jessie Ed Davis as a second guitarist. I imagine he was there to compensate for some of Ronnie's excesses such as the relentless shrieking, slide wank in which he'd engage

Sonically it's superb. A wide, clean and deep stereo presentation as opposed to the flat, lifeless, ProTools atrocity that was "A Bigger Bang" a few years later. I read that ABB was a cut and paste job assembled at Jagger's house rather than a proper studio. What we may have with these outtakes is the last time the Stones recorded as an band until "Blue and Lonesome."

QuoteSilver Dagger QuoteR His playing had character then. He's just been Keith's foil since 1975. And worse still - he covers for Keith totally now. Keith coasts while Ronnie does the hard work. I don't think in the Stones Ronnie was ever allowed to play an influential guitar riff/lick like let's say That's All You Need, Too Bad, Stay With Me, Around The Plynth or e

Darryl is a highly capable bass player but he doesn't have Bill's "swing." A key component not so much in the Stones sound but rather their feel.

NASCAR has been socialized i.e. every car and every team has been reduced to the same level of mediocrity. Stages and other gimmicks notwithstanding it's become boring. The Car of Tomorrow introduced 9-10 years ago put the last nail in the coffin. Now it's just a contrived reality show. I'm fortunate enough to have seen the the Pettys and Yarboroughs and Pearsons and Chargers an

Quotekeefriffhard4life Quoterbk The usual bands in the usual barns. So far this summer is shaping up to be nothing special. how is the pairing of these 3 musicians "the usual" Everyone of these acts traipses around the US amphitheater circuit every summer in some manner, shape or form playing the same hit parade. The only thing that changes is who gets paired up with whom.

I'm 60. I was ten years old in 1967. Though I didn't think to ask for it my mother gave me a $20 ROSS cassette recorder for Christmas that year along with a recorded copy of Sgt. Pepper. At first I didn't even understand the latter was a Beatles album but I digress. I became obsessed with recording songs off the radio and TV. Somewhere I still have copies of In Concert and e
