QuoteJJHMick Can somebody post Them (Van Morrison) doing "It's all over now, baby blue" please. This is a Dylan song sung like Mick Jagger. Not sure you mean via Youtube but here it is anyway Brilliantly sampled by Beck on the song Jackass as well. Can't really hear Mick in there, but on the other hand i always thought he was doing a Van impression on Winter but th

The Youtube clip is very slightly out of sync Here it is on another site The picks and strums seem to match up.Cant explain the orchestra tempo, maybe they'd rehearsed it a couple of times and had cues set up or something.Who knows,i'm still going with live. Maybe we should drop Keith a line and ask him.I'm sure he'd remember

I'm certain he's playing live, his right hand matches exactly what you hear his other hand doing,if that makes sense.I don't think he's miming to a specially recorded track, the playing is too random and imprecise(in a good way!) You can also see the microphone that's picking it up. Only the strings are prerecorded in my view, maybe from the original tapes

Sometimes it was a mix of both.I think As Tears Go By on Ed Sullivan had Mick singing and Keith playing acoustic live over the original studio backing track

QuoteBig Al Thank you for the insight Rockman and still ill. In regards to the TOTP performance of Mothers Little Helper - I suspect it was a playback - It is very doubtful that we'll ever get to see it. Those idiots at the bloated broadcasting corporation binned so many TV programmes in the 1960's. Its quite tragic that we only have those few TOTP performances available: Not Fade Away,

QuoteRockman Going by Mick's top and the streamers falling across stage looks pretty much like 1966 Australian TV broadcast ..... Remember being glued to screen ....Couldn't get enough of it...then it was all over ... NO VCR/DVD recorders in them days...... I think you're correct. Nzentgraf says this... 17th February: Australian TV (Channel 9) ‘Bandstand Special’, Sydney

A totally new clip to me.According to 'Good Times,Bad Times'by Rawlings and Badman and the Karnbach book they played the song on 'Top of the Pops' 3 times ,The Eamonn Andrews Show','Big Beat' in Australia and Ed Sullivan, all in Feb 1966.It's not Ed Sullivan as that was in colour so presumably it's one of the others, although for some reason,it looks lik

Quoteslasausjes Just want to see his face, casino boogie, stop breaking down, shake your hips, turd on the run, sweet black angel, ventilator blues, soul survivor? Think Richards & Wood will get a heartattack even THINKING about playing those tunes!!! Spot on.Funnily enough LIB,SF and SG could be done easily as many of the songs on them are played regularly. They wont do it of course

It's always puzzled me how comparatively, and i stress comparatively, few records the Stones have sold when you consider the enormous amount of publicity, advertising and column inches devoted to them over their career.Only perhaps the Beatles have had more press, but the sales pale in comparison. They also lack the 'big' career defining album,a Back in Black,Rumours,Led Zep 4,Dark Sid

QuoteShawn20 Anyone care to say what exactly makes the 69 version stand out so much from the others. I too believe it is by far the best live version of that warhorse. Is it too obvious to post this

Apart from a couple of shows, the Isle of Wight being one i think,Satisfaction absolutely rocked on the b-stage during the Bang tour. Not as good as '69 obviously, but better than Steel Wheels,Voodoo and certainly the equal of B2B.1971 never really did it for me either. The worst version has to be '78,however much i love that tour.
