well, i was going to mention that in honour of that london performance, rod played: you wear that burberry well some blokes have all the luck no reason to believe blair and gasoqueen alley but i'll have to talk to chuck about getting some stones' setlists . . .

Anybody have/seen this DVD? It's from a Rod Stewart gig circa 2004 at the Royal Albert Hall in sleepy London town. I just received it in the mail and gave it a nice viewing with two 40s in tow. Actually, there really aren't many hardcore fans like us. Attendance at any Stones show anywhere will reveal this. Go to a Dylan or John Prine show afterwards and compare. Sad but true.

1981 was the absolute pinnacle of the Stones' as a live act. (I know, I know, '72 was fantastic, too.) I love everything about the tour: Mick's attitude-laden vox, Keith and Ronnie's inimitable weave, Bill's extremely prominent bass, the football jerseys. (OK, maybe not.) Ernie Watts was a revelation.
