I think the timing of a future tour (assuming the band remain healthy) depends on a CV-19 vaccine being available, and rolled-out widely. Without that there is the risk of a serious CV-19 flare-up anywhere in any country that is not totally isolated from the rest of the world. It could be in any city. Even in countries hit hard this year like Italy, only 15-20% of the population has immunity.

The "Shane Fenton" mentioned later became Alvin Stardust and had some hits in the 1970s in the UK. His son is headmaster of a public (ie fee-paying) school in England.

My first Stones gig was the 22nd May Earls Court gig. Many memories: - sending off for tickets by post, expecting nothing due to "millions of applications", then 2 arriving - driving up from Portsmouth for the evening, parking close-by, pub for a couple of drinks - crew walking around with star-shaped tour T-shirts - buying a poster (on my wall still), T-shirt (now far too s

That Harvard article is just recognition that if we want to absolutely minimise the number of people dying of Covid-19 then then the lockdown must stay in place until 5 Billion people get vaccinated. The alternative is to try and suppress the level of infection through some lockdown measures - but accept that people will get the virus and some will die. Depending on how severe the lock down/ q

Getting away from the charity politics.... The rehearsals for the tour would have started around now, in the USA. So maybe he's making reference to the timing and what should have been?

I'm pretty sure the Tour will not happen this year. The cancellation will only happen when each City says "no big gatherings in May, June and July". Otherwise the Stones carry all the cancellation cost. I feel sorry for all of us, but especially the rest of the band, crew etc. who get no salary this year! If we are very lucky, from all perspectives, then the virus crisis ends in

There will always be some hysteria about new diseases, or new strains of flu or new viruses. But it is important to read the factual data, which is sometimes ignored by the politicians and the press! For these viruses, getting accurate data is tricky. To start with, not every case get recorded. Take "seasonal" flu: many of us get it and never see a doctor: we just tough it out. There

QuoteBeast For anyone who can access BBCiPlayer, there's an interview with Jo at 2:58:00 here. Shows quite a lot of photos from the book. The music playing when they showed the photos in this interview - seemed like a version of Biggest Mistake, but with no vocals? Anyone know where that comes from and who would give it the BBC - this is not an "official" Stones activity so n

Quotepaulywaul QuoteGasLightStreet After all that... London. Huh. That might mean something. It might indeed. It might mean …. 'thank you, goodnight, and goodbye' !! Were that to be the case, then as Bob Geldof said in some documentary or other about the Rolling Stones, when they bow out for good, it will be a case of "Ladies and Gentlemen, THAT was rock n' roll&qu

from the Guardian newspaper... The Colorado Rapids have announced Saturday’s match with the Montreal Impact will go ahead as scheduled, but parking at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park will be restricted to asphalt lots and a planned fireworks display has been canceled due to plague-infested fleas found on prairie dog colonies in the area. QuoteTurningToGold2 Did the Stones ever play Jacksonville before 1975? I'm wondering if they ever made it there during the early years or something. Really kinda curious to hear what Mick has to say about the town tonight. He's been doing that every show now, running down the memories of earlier shows in the particular city or venue they are in, it's really been great to hear him s

Quotevertigojoe Keith’s guitar would usually be capo’d at the seventh fret for MR. No capo for PIB. So was he given the wrong guitar? Surely he wouldn’t start MR on an uncapo’d guitar?? PIB. these days, is played with a Capo on the second fret.

Darryl and Chuck were still playing: I looked back towards the stage and you could also hear them. the first boot from the show confirms this. I think Bernard may have done backing vocals as well.

It would be illegal in most countries for promotors to block the signal. They can block their wifi, if they provide it and thats how you connect. What happens is that the cell (or cells) overload with 50,000 people trying to use them. Just calls and texts add to the load; Apps more, streaming down bad, streaming-up even worse. So the cell capacity fills so much it just get well over full. Then

I think its worth us all remembering that there is probably nobody on the Board aged over 30 years who could perform (sing, dance, run, entertain) like Mick for over 2 hours. Just not physically there combined with the voice and style. period. Yes he may do less than 20 years ago; yes his voice may need more protecting; yes he can't do it every night or even every other night. Hands-up an
