2. Get Close : the riff starts like Slave's and ends like Sway's 6. Dreamy Skyes : rythm and slide reminds me a lot of No Expectations

Actually Buffalo June 15th was in 1975, not 1972.

I started reading Outer Dark 2 months ago and finished it today, the day I heard about his death... What a book. McCarthy's writing is so strong and moving. I'll sure read more of them. Suttree maybe, Blood Meridian is also said to be very good.

Why did they take so long to release it ? Nowadays' technology may be part of the answer. Maybe the tapes were really damaged, and AI or any other thing make it possible to restore them properly. Makes me think of Giles Martin stating that in a few years technology will be there to separate the Beatles' early albums tracks so he can remix them. That would be full of promises for all the

It seems to me that BS riff, on time 3 and 4, sounds very much like time 1 and 2 of Criss Cross' riff

They haven't lived in the same city since 1971. Since then, they've relied on their habits and tricks but no new fire could be ignited, except when thay had to live together for a while (Paris 1977-1978). Put them in lockdown in the same home for a year, you'll get a great album.

Julien from Paris, France. 40 years old. I borrowed the London Years to a friend 20 years ago, what a shock ! I've seen them 3 times live. Fav bootleg : STP 72 (Philly 21st, morning show)

QuoteGasLightStreet I had trouble with Living in the Heart of Love at first. Because to me it was still an unfinished work and I said, Ah, I'll never finish it. For me that was the real problem in the early 70's. The raw material was as good as ever, but they stopped taking the time needed to polish it. Imagine what Criss Cross could have been if they had worked it for 3 years,

The lyrics of the released version are available now but I'd love to have the ones of the "classic" outtake. I've started to transcribe them, but I cannot understand all the words. Here is what I understand, can you help me to complete it? Thanks! Update : thanks JMARKO ! [00:12] I'm a fast-talking, slow-walking, hard-headed man when I'm on. [00:24] I&

I really like the new version. I've been listening to this version and the old bootleg version carefully and I've noticed something funny : for me, from 3:57 to 4:12, the vocals are the original ones, not the new ones. I can even hear a hiss. Do you agree ?

TTY Deluxe seems like the final look on the 70's unfinished/unreleased material. We may get an 80's deluxe package though.

Hi, I've got a few questions regarding this compilation. - Reelin' and Rockin', Good Bye Girl and Key to the Highway were also recorded at Chess Studios, but they are not on this compilation. Does it mean that no stereo mix of these has ever surfaced ? - Is there something special with these masters of We Love You and Dandelion ? Weren't they recorded at Olympics ?

The piano has the same really modern sound on these 5 titles, it sounds more recent than the backing tracks of the songs. It may be played by Chuck Leavell though. And how do we know that Fast Talking was recorded in 1974, not 1972 ? Maybe it got the same treatement as Short and Curlies (recorded in 1972, reworked in 1974) ?

Theses 5 songs seem to have been overdubbed quite recently with the same piano player : Can't Find Love, Keep It Cool, Part of the Night, Still in Love, I Can't See No One Else. Were they planned for an official release at some point?

That collection shows they were able to compose great songs throughout their whole career. Makes me think that their lesser times were only "less work" times, not "less creative" times. So many opportunities for great songs were lost...

To be trustful to the Jamaica sessions only : remove Silver Train which was recorded in 1970 and Hide Your Love that was started in London in May 73. And add Criss Cross and Through the Lonely Nights

Several reviews describe it as Brown Sugar-éduqué. I really don't hear BS at all... Criss Cross' riff is similar to BS, that's true. Actually, ATR belongs to the Good Time Women/All Down the Line (alternate bonus take) family : straight rock'n'rollers

My bad ! I meant that more details and interactions between vocals, instruments and drums can be heard which make these mixes more lively. A less compressed sound would be even better I guess.

I'm loving the remix so far. DWMD, ST, CYHTM and SF's dynamics are greatly improved. More detailed vocals and instruments, punchier drums give them much more consistency.

I think that the Single Mix and the BBC Mix are different : the BBC mix is shorter. The second main guitar starts at around 00:10 on both mixes, the final "Scarlet, you excite me" is around the 03:00 on the Single Mix and around the 02:40 mark on the BBC Mix. Plus the second main guitar is higher in the BBC Mix. The BBC Mix can be heard on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show podcast thr
