Hot Stuff is the best song on here - the band on fire, nasty. The Ron Wood-era of the Rolling Stones is my favorite. In 1981, we got 'If I was a Dancer (Dance Pt. 2)' - amazing song. Incidentally, I remember seeing the next live attempt of Hot Stuff in 1994 in Washington D.C. Given how smoking hot the El Mocambo version is, not surprised the band gave it another shot 17 years later.

Quotejbwelda Didn't they play in Iowa during their early tours? jb No. But, they played nearby Omaha, Nebraska on their first American tour, 1964. And, Minnesota on the same tour.

Lyric in the song "Silver Train" from an album called Goats Head Soup, which I hear they're reissuing later this year. ST was played twice in 2014 with a guitarist named Mick Taylor. I saw the band play "Heartbreaker" in Houston in 2019, also from GHS. Criss Cross is amazing!

Are these three the only Iowa shows in the band's career? I attended 1994. Cedar Falls, 1981 Ames, 1989 Ames, 1994 *Update: I've been listening to the Cedar Falls show tonight and Mick mentions after HTW that it's their "first time" in Iowa. So, those three shows must be the only three.

I saw the Stones many times between 1994-98. My last Stones show was April '98 in Chicago. So, Houston next month will be my first Stones show in 21 years. So, crazy huh? I have a really good seat for Houston. So excited!!!

I love that "Fool to Cry" live clip from '76 in the first part. Sounds great, considering that tour!

I think the effort to organize it 1-4 (and imply that each Stones' drug use vastly differs from the other) is just too simple. For instance, Keith is 3 and 4. And I would add Ronnie to 4, joining Keith, because of their continued smoking and drinking. And if you're going to put Ronnie as "getting out just in time"--I mean, do have you a story to back that up? Didn't K

It's been so rare to see this song played live since the '89 tour. Lucky to have seen it first night of Voodoo Lounge--it gave me chills.

It's not one of my favorites live, either. The bass and drums feel like they're burying the song before it gets off the ground. Remember that version in 1994 with Sheryl Crow in Miami. Yikes! That was bad.

A setlist with Slave, Let it Loose, and 100 Years Ago...man, oh man...that would slay. Throw 2000 Man in there for good measure.

Paris had "She Was Hot" and "Wanna Hold You." I think the first time this occured was at one of the Beacon shows, when they played "SWH" and "Undercover." "Pretty Beat Up" might be next. Wishful thinking though...I don't think Mick is going to let that song get in the set--too obscure.

Well, that piece wasn't funny at all, actually. The obvious jokes and humor, over and over again. Nothing unique about it.

I think people shouldn't be so hard on Mathijs. If you don't like the post, don't respond it. I have no idea whether any of the Stones are wearing wigs. Mick's hair often looks bouncy and fuller in concert--especially when compared with that recent pic of him signing the autograph.

I'm kind of surprised people are applauding this story. The photo does look completely hacked. And I found at least two factual errors: Wasn't Rupert like 85, and not "well into his seventies," as the story implied. Also, Mick never graduated from the LSE as the story also mentioned. Pretty sad actually.

I was hoping for "100 Years Ago" and "Let it Loose." The list looks good but the vast majority is songs they've played on recent tours. Happy to see "Pretty Beat Up"--and "VB" from Exile.

Come on people. Keith, for years, has been the weathered and ragged looking member of the Stones since about 1981. He's held that part for a long time.

I agree that Keith sounds old and out of touch with these comments. Rap/hip-hop is a genre with many outstanding artists--Blue Scholars from Seattle are an example of a quality, newer hip-hop group. I, for one, am a little more high-minded about using the word "hate" in reference to a musical genre that consists largely of black people.

I'm watching the show in Tempe in 1981. '81: the last sloppy tour; Mick at the height of the Peter Pan syndrome; lemon-yellow tights. '89: the first professional Stones tour. Flashpoint is really strong. The "beginning of the second half" as Keith said. Have fun in '07 everyone. I'm not in Europe. Should be really fun though.

I was about 15 years old when the Flashpoint CD came out and I just loved the sound of it back then (right when I started getting into the Stones). I remember really liking the version of "Sad, Sad, Sad," among other tracks, of course.
