That chorus sounds fantastic - that chord progression A to C#M to BM to E always sounds great. Can not go wrong with that progression.

I do not think so but Wicked As It Seems has by Keith which is another song Keith brilliantly comes up A lot of similar guitar grooves and riffs from Keith. Silver Train did not get played live until recently because it sounded to much like All Down The Line

Once you accept that much here are thoughts and opinions then just have fun with that. What keeps me coming back are the historical facts and information and knowledge many of the people have on the forum. If you learn something about your favorite band the rolling stones then that's a good thing and not a waste of time. So Hairball keep on posting its better then to fade away I wou

Re: Goats Head Soup Reissue - September 4 Posted by: westonkeef () Date: July 29, 2020 04:46 "Hide Your Love" is a great example of Mick Taylor elevating a track with his fluid phrasing and musianship. I always thought it was a throwback to MT's John Mayall days when he learned the art of playing back the recall and reponse to the vocal and piano. Same thing with short

Kind of sad for fans that MT does not make the cut on Brown Sugar for the official studio release and Eric Clapton is on BS for the reissue release of SF. MT only on outtakes on BS. Protecting the contributions of all band members for all periods not something the glimmers were in to - Compare that to JP and he was 100% into protecting the legacy of Led Zep. Find stuff that the original b

On the reissues in the MT era - They had a world class guitarist in MT and they use Eric Clapton on BS, and now JP comes to save the day on Scarlet and again Eric Clapton on Blue and Lonesome. I wish they would just find stuff that the band members contributed for those periods.

DP - you are correct when I watched the trailer release video they put All The rage and Scarlet under Jimmy Page name and I thought JP played on both songs. Criss Cross I do not hear MT just Keith on g

On 15 October 1974, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, and Ian Stewart recorded an unreleased instrumental at Island Studios and named it "Scarlet', in her honour. Born: Scarlet Lilith Eleida Page. Is this related to the stones release ?

GNR - SFTD - I have not listened to that in a long time. I think they were broken up and David Geffen asked them to come back and record the greatest hits release. Slash's first solo captures Keith's tone that Keith never captured again going into the 70's. But after that Slash plays the solo parts way to FAST and I would rather listen to Keith play it slow LOL even today.

ted by: Hairball () Date: June 22, 2020 00:36 Tell Tale Signs...no doubt one of the best compilations ever - I even sprung for the (overpriced) 3 disk Deluxe version which included a neat Theme Time Radio Hour poster (for the first 5,000 pre-orders), a book of Dylan singles art, a 7" vinyl single, and of course the third disk filled with more greatness. > Tell Tale Signs Yes that

te DandelionPowderman Is that obvious? IMO, they were writing songs for SF, GHS and IORR that both gave Taylor more space and a different musical platform for him to express himself. That made his decision to leave even more puzzling. Great point DP - Thats why I listen to GHS and IORR more along with BB then any other RS record. They were exploring more with Jaggers vocals and crafti

I think MT showed his talent with writing Slow Blues, Giddy Up and Spanish A Minor I think his two studio records were fantastic and he wasted his talent all those years after the stones and just collaborated with other artists to get by. I do not think Jeff Beck could of wrote a better blues composition then Slow Blues or a better tonal fushion masterpiece like Spanish A Minor. Just my opinion
