Quotechevysales nah I dug opening to Licks at Fleet Center. Keith was all over the stage that night like an uncaged tiger. and they nailed it for an opener... and lets not forget we also got Stray Cat Blues that night as they "featured" and album each nite of that great tour. what an undertaking 3 shows/venues in big cities!!! Yea it was a great opener at Fleet Center. Mick's vo

QuoteTheBlockbuster QuoteRocktiludrop Don't know about that but Micks vocals definitely sound overdubbed. Yes, Mick's vocals was definitely overdubbed for some songs on the Austin 2006 concert. Just listen to Satisfaction: Funny how at 2:57 his real live vocals briefly comes back, and then at 3:01 it's overdubbed again. It's a bit of a Frankenstein project.

I think Keith when he was younger would have tried to tune the string while the song was going, or tried not to hit it while playing, but at his age I think it's understandable if he just keeps on playing like nothing happened. Nowadays most guitarists have a tuner pedal on their pedalboard, so they can mute their guitar briefly while tuning it. But Keith is old-school and doesn't

Quotewaterrats As for accidents - these things just happen. As for last night's gig - Keith's guitar should have been re-checked just before they came to play PIB. It's really out of tune. But then again: such things just happen. I guess Keith has now forgotten how to tune his own guitar "that's someone else's job!".

If they scratched Tumbling Dice and Miss You from the setlist there would be room to play all four of them. An audience recording of the 26th June show is on youtube: If you compare them song by song, you can hear it's the 26th June show.

In 2012 when they played their first shows, the reactions were very positive on here, it was the initial thrill of seeing them again I guess. Then in 2013 there was a bit more criticism, even though the performances were pretty much on the same level. My initial reaction in 2012 was that Keith played better compared to some of the 2007 shows, but the tempos were slowed down and Mick's voice

QuoteNikkei If you ask me, that's a pretty interesting first half of a setlist. But I'm still not sure how I feel about the whole thing. It's fortunate that Steve Jordan does so well but... suppose you go to look at a vintage steam locomotive but it's not being fired up and only pushed forward by an electric one. Sure it's cool to look at, the gears move and everything bu

They should retire Start me Up from the setlist. Mick's voice always sound tired on it and the swing is missing without Charlie.

It's a bit distasteful to compare Charlie's drumming at 78 years old with Steve's drumming and say things like "Steve brings so much energy to the band!". Charlie wasn't at his best ever during the last few years but he still did his best to keep up. I will always love the sound Charlie brought to the Stones much more than anything else.

Yes Keith is a different person than 2019, actually his playing is better than ever, these concerts are the best since 1969.

The magic and unique sound is gone without Charlie. The current line-up is still good, but I don't get the same buzz from it.

Great job editing the videos together. Sounds like some EQ was done to the shattered78 tape. Most times I prefer just to hear the original tape.

Quotejumpingjackflash5 QuoteRaiseTheKnife Charlie adapted the tempo a bit more to follow how Keith played, while Steve kind of forces up the tempo no matter what. Seems like many people want them to play faster. Right, right. Charlie was (mainly) following Keith, whereas now Mr. Jordan drives the tempo and the others catch up, they do well, but the sound has changed also because of this. Alwa

Paint It Black sounded a bit messy, they are not in perfect sync with each other so to speak. It will probably improve over time.

Simple cellphone recordings can produce pretty good results nowadays. This Iphone 7 recording with a Shure MV88 microphone sounds really good.

QuoteMisterDDDD Quoteexhpart Must say it's very strange not to even know who Kenny Jones is. And have all these opinions on Steve Jordan and drumming. Just sayin'... Takes the pisss out of any drumming argument really. Methinks it's not the playing the obviously ignorant young lad has a problem with. Shame he's been able to clog up the threads with this nonsense. Quotejumpingjackflash5 Mr Jordan can technically go through the songs, drums professionally well, but his sound is unfortunately NOT compatible with the Stones, goes into different direction and is not some flaw, tempo change or variation, it is something that does not blend with the sound of the band that is (was) distinctive and unique. These short clips reminds me more of Mick Jagger with

QuoteLien Those 2 sec of Start Me Up sounds so different from how Charlie played it live. The Stones sound was so unpredictable and interesting with Keith + Charlie, you never knew what to expect. Just hope things won't get stale with too many "professional" schooled musicians in the band.

QuoteEasterMan If you're in a smaller venue I think you should record the whole show with your phone. Would've loved to seen phone recordings of Echoplex 2013 or Kraft Show 2016. Or the upcoming Kraft Show. Yes if any real Stones fans gets to see the Kraft show, they should record it! Even if that means discreetly recording the audio with your phone at waist level.

Opening nights have always been rusty, Philadelphia 1981, Werchter 2007, Hamburg 2017 comes to mind. Can't imagine how it will sound with a new drummer + opening night nerves.

I really want the Salt Lake show, but don't feel like buying the expensive deluxe edition. Rio 2006 is not one of their best shows, the mix is not an improvement, and the picture quality is not better than on The Biggest Bang. Wish they'd made Salt Lake the main release instead, with Rio 2006 as a bonus for the deluxe edition.

QuoteDandelionPowderman Guitar track 1 (Keith): Right channel: The one that starts the song, and plays throughout. Rhythm and licks. Guitar track 2 (Keith): Far right channel: Adds reggae/dub-ish licks in just the right places - several times. Guitar track 3 (Keith): Center/left channel: Marks chord changes (E/D, I believe) where Mick is just strumming one chord. Plays a few licks, too. Guit

It's hard to feel motivated taking part in this voting. She's So Cold, All Down The Line, Rocks Off, Respectable, Live With Me, Like A Rolling Stone, Under My Thumb or You Got Me Rocking... Does it really matter which one they pick? We've all heard them before. If they're gonna have a song vote then pick some songs which hasn't been played for a while... I would vote

QuoteBjorn Talking about The Rolling Stones and skills 2019 - is like having a serious discussion about how Diego Maradona should act when he is playing football with his grandchildren in the backyard... The Stones has never been about chops and impressive soloing. Keith's skills has not deteriorated much the last 10 years. He always makes a few mistakes here and there. Overall the band so
