Opening nights have always been rusty, Philadelphia 1981, Werchter 2007, Hamburg 2017 comes to mind. Can't imagine how it will sound with a new drummer + opening night nerves.

I really want the Salt Lake show, but don't feel like buying the expensive deluxe edition. Rio 2006 is not one of their best shows, the mix is not an improvement, and the picture quality is not better than on The Biggest Bang. Wish they'd made Salt Lake the main release instead, with Rio 2006 as a bonus for the deluxe edition.

QuoteDandelionPowderman Guitar track 1 (Keith): Right channel: The one that starts the song, and plays throughout. Rhythm and licks. Guitar track 2 (Keith): Far right channel: Adds reggae/dub-ish licks in just the right places - several times. Guitar track 3 (Keith): Center/left channel: Marks chord changes (E/D, I believe) where Mick is just strumming one chord. Plays a few licks, too. Guit

It's hard to feel motivated taking part in this voting. She's So Cold, All Down The Line, Rocks Off, Respectable, Live With Me, Like A Rolling Stone, Under My Thumb or You Got Me Rocking... Does it really matter which one they pick? We've all heard them before. If they're gonna have a song vote then pick some songs which hasn't been played for a while... I would vote

QuoteBjorn Talking about The Rolling Stones and skills 2019 - is like having a serious discussion about how Diego Maradona should act when he is playing football with his grandchildren in the backyard... The Stones has never been about chops and impressive soloing. Keith's skills has not deteriorated much the last 10 years. He always makes a few mistakes here and there. Overall the band so

Paris 1998 is that dry mono SB right? If there is an audience recording to matrix it with then maybe it would come alive.

Quotedcba QuoteBeforeTheyMakeMeRun he only wants the 'good stuff' while barely elaborating. That is the uncirculating stuff. Everything's that on boots is circulating = it's cold/dead to Reelstone... (imo he has a point). Yea but it's still rather odd that he's asking for uncirculating stuff in return for something that's already out there.

QuoteBlueranger Flashpoint on vinyl is a nightmare. It also ommited Rock And A Hard Place and Can't Be Seen altogether. A bad move. Double vinyl would me more than welcome. More than welcome? Why even listen to Flaspoint at all anymore, when you have Tokyo Dome '90 official release... If you listen to Tokyo Dome you even get to hear Keith's full solo on SFTD which was edited dow

Thanks for this. Does Xavel make any profit at all by recording these shows, I can't imagine they sell more than a handful of copies?

Most vault shows would be welcome. However there's a few already circulating pro-shots I really don't want to see released: Tokyo Dome 1995 (way too polished and stiff playing) Saitama 2006 (uninspired performance) Newark 2012 (Lady Gaga and Bruce Springsteen doesn't belong in a Stones show)

QuoteDandelionPowderman But what is "good and exciting tempos" for IORR and JJF? Both the LYL-version of IORR and the Rock'n'Roll Circus-version of JJF are slower than today's versions. Yet they are my absolute favourite versions Indeed you can vary they way you play ''whitin'' the tempo, but IORR from LYL is played with Charlie at times onl

QuoteGazza QuoteRaiseTheKnife I think many of the negative comments about their playing back in 2007 was because people were still comparing the shows to the Licks-tour which far superior. Nowadays our expectations are lowered quite a bit and a No Filter-show can't be compared to how they played 15 years ago. Not really. Either (and sometimes both) of the guitarists were simply very incons

QuoteNeverMakeASaintOfMe I honestly don't get the hype with Saitama 2006. It seems decent at best. To be honest Saitama is one of the worst ABB shows I've heard. The quality of the HD-broadcast was excellent but Keith's playing was subpar, he massacred LSTNT with pentatonic overplaying, barely played during parts of SMU and BS and his solo on SFTD was awful. The rest of the band

QuoteReelStone Trade with ReelStone. Your guarantee for not having your rare files ending up in an accessible-for-all file sharing website. ReelStone, your trusted trading partner. Quotedennycranium And to think I just got a few copies of Blinded By Love For Gypsy Kings from VGP for my master tape. *sigh* Don't trade with ReelStone! He's probably a scammer.

Is there even a audience recording of this show? There's a great pro-shot of the incomplete show, but the audio is very dry:

"The cake remained, but all that tasty icing was gone". I love Taylor's soloing when it's actually time for a solo. But it became too much icing for my taste... Sometimes you need to not play any fancy licks at all for five minutes, otherwise those licks will lose their effect.

Quotepowerage78 Time waits for no one. Which is why I think it's absurd to talk about touring next summer... Why not start touring in January, if they really want to play they can always book some clubs.
