The use of the phrase "New Era" may have been included to counteract predictable talk such as: "Surely this must be the last album", "Mick is 80 - surely he/they can't continue much longer" "the tour was cancelled - surely they can't carry on touring at their ages", "this must be their swan song", "retirement is near", etc..
