RIP Peter Green One of the finest guitarists of his generation and founder of one of the greatest bands of the 60s. Easily up there with the best of them. A truly sad loss. RIP.

I was there too. It was a local show for me (though not my first, that was 1976) as I live in North East England. It was a truly wonderful occasion. Went with friends and girlfriend (now wife) who weren't particularly fans but thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh how Id love to go back to those days!

Quotebitusa2012 And, sacrilege I know, but this version of Sympathy just SMOKES! The last 4 minutes are a guitar driven sonic disturbance. LOVE IT, possibly more than the Ya Yas version. Got to agree with you there..... I play the LYL version of Sympathy endlessly and its absolutely fantastic...… Still takes second place to the version on GYYYO though..... But only just! What is total

Very very sad news.... Possibly the last of the great variety show entertainers, loved an audience, loved to entertain....Saw him perform in the 70s, he was on stage for over 5 hours barring a quick 20 minute break! RIP Doddy

Brown Sugar......It was all over the radio in 1971, tortured my older brother to buy me the single, which he eventually did, and I still have it. In the meantime someone gave me a copy of the Decca album Gimme Shelter....... I was hooked!

Always loved it, but not so much live..... The 12 inch version is sublime, and I play it a lot..... And always loud!

I still have vivid memories of one of my sisters playing where do you go to my lovely endlessly on our record player after buying the single in 1969..... I was not a fan of it then, but it now has a place in my heart due to those memories. Rest in Peace Peter Sarstedt
