VGP-126 is the July 23 show. I got a rip claimed from silver, that does look lossy.
Louisville was on August 4, Mr. Freezer source
On August 6, they played the Hampton Coliseum. For this I have (Exile Records EXCD 005/006)
If you need any of these, let me know.

I have the silver, and it's Chicago. But nobody knows if this is the July 22nd or the July 23rd show. Just like Copenhagen 1970, it wasn't "common knowledge" that Rolling Stones official tour setlist for them shows were not correct. So VGP just wrote what they "knew" = Chicago july 23rd.
To me it sounds like a pretty dull performance. Unlike Chicago July 24th which is absolutely terrific. One of the best performances of the 2nd half of the 70s.

Erik, in your opinion is VGP 262 or C2C 16 the better sounding release?
Although luckily for me and fourteen thousand others, this didn't happen in Seattle in 1975, the band seemed to run out of steam after half an hour or so on some nights.
This particular set had Achilles heels, something the Europe 73 set didn't have. Can you imagine seeing Angie/YGAGWYW/Midnight Rambler/HTW/ADTL/RTJ/JJF/SFM performed?
In 1975 it also felt like if things went out of balance early on, they didn't always recover.

Jonathan, you are confusing American Compendium with Sad Songs Is All I Know (VGP) and that C2C release....would you believe I have them all.....how much money was spent back then. To answer your question, the VGP and the C2C release are practically the same, apart from the fact that C2C didn't put the songs in correct order, so VGP is better that way.
That last Chicago show is one of the absolute best 1975 shows, IMO. Seattle might be *the* best, but Chicago July24th is on it's shoulder.

If I claimed Seattle was the best 1975 show, it wasn't in the above post. IIRC the Chicago show you're referring to is incomplete, yes? I think I have it from Sugarmegs.
I haven't looked for it again tonight, but I'll check it out now.

Even though I have no evidence, I suspect the video of the first 5 songs of the show in Chicago to be from July 22nd, and "American Compendium" to be from July 23rd. Because the video shows a band in it's prime, lotsa energy, and also because it's more likely that the news-crew would be present on the opening night.
"American Compendium" sounds like a more wasted piece of musicians, on the other hand.
