Agree about these late '82 Pathe Marconi sessions being very interesting. I still really like the official Undercover album, but the more I listen to the outtakes and early demos the more I wish they had skipped the slick production that ended up making the final cut. I actually kinda dig Mick's muffled vocals and the bare bones, guitar-heavy sound of the early recordings, although the Stones (and studio execs for that matter) would probably see them as "unfinished".

I'd never noticed before how close "Tried To Talk Her Into It" is from "Claudine".

On request I would like to make the statement that Tried to Talk Her Into It has Jim Barber on 12-string guitar.

some other "fans" have been sitting on that stuff for their own personal enjoyment and still have the nerve to come and comment here that "oh yeah I'd heard all this stuff before", sad, sad, sad...

To be fair I wasn't 'sitting' on the tapes...I was sitting on a cedar chest that contains the tapes...

I'd venture that the last time we got something like this was when the Chuch Magee tape leaked in August 2006 and there weren't even as many unknown/unheard songs, only "Ready Yourself" (the instrumental version) and "For Your Precious Love". "Foxes in the Boxes" is almost as good as "Voodoo Brew"...and a lot cheaper ;-)
What's beautiful here is the care that was taken in putting this package together (research, art work) for the fans and for zero profit, when some other "fans" have been sitting on that stuff for their own personal enjoyment and still have the nerve to come and comment here that "oh yeah I'd heard all this stuff before", sad, sad, sad...

Thx! I wonder what was his involvement in the UC sessions...
Iirc Jagger brought him in to give a more modern sound to the band's music.

Bkeys, do you mind if I repost your link at the Dime page where the torrent was posted?

Wow, we have a track labeled as "unverified" on the Nico bible.
Don't know how to thank you bkeys but that is really generous from you.
It is a bit like having a new stones album with all those outtakes surfacing!

One rehearsal from 1975 I'd LOVE to hear is a complete "English Rose" ;-)
