Great news. Good to see Russell Brand in there too as he's made for the part, whatever anyone thinks of him.

And speaking about movies...
I heard talk about Mick working with Scorsese. As a producer.

I don't think he agreed to it. I think they were just saying that he fits in with the other Sparrows - not necessarily that he'll be acting alongside all of them.

I'm all for Keith being in the movies or what not.

But IMHO that last Pirates movie was terrible.........

The comedian, who resigned from his BBC Radio 2 show last week over the obscene phone calls made to actor Andrew Sachs, could earn up to £5 million in the role.

He would not be the first tousled British star to appear alongside Johnny Depp in the film series; Rolling Stone Keith Richards had a brief cameo as Jack Sparrow's father in Pirates of the Caribbean 3.

A source quoted in The Sun said the part was "perfectly suited" to Brand, who is known for his eccentric style.

"There's a lot of Jack Sparrow in his mannerisms and behaviour. Depp's accent isn't a million miles away from Russell's either," the source said.

"Russell joining the Sparrows alongside Johnny and Keith Richards as their dad will complete the ultimate on-screen pirate family."

I still don't think that confirms anything, I think it's worded to be misleading.

Yeah, it makes it sound as if both of all three will be in the movie together.

Russell Brand was sent to interview Keith a couple of years ago, during the ABB tour in Cologne I think it was. Having eventually arrived backstage, late of course, RB is escorted to Keith's inner sanctum and the opening banter went something like this......
"You're a DJ?"
"I'm a comedian, Keith"
"Hey, me too"

Russell's assistant then asked Keith if he could photograph him with the guitars, to which Keith replied "Be easier with a camera". The legendary Richards one liners, doncha love 'em.

This is pure speculation. Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott, the screenwriters haven't even started working on a script. The producer, Jerry Bruckheimer already said 2012 is the earliest this will come together and that is likely a year or two too soon. This way too premature to guess that Keith will be back or who the other roles will go to and even what characters will be involved. I doubt there's anything more than a bare-bones premise of what direction they could take with a fourth film if it happens.

Ha ha. Another point that wasn't brought up - by that time, Keith might be all knobby and unable to walk for all we know. If his arthritis gets the best of him, who knows what's going to happen.

Of course, there is also the 'if Keith is still alive' line too.

Keith's Oscar worthy performance in Pirates III not withstanding, this franchise has gotten progressively worse with every release. I think the tit has gone dry on this one...

Ahhhh but you see, it's like watching Sony's Godzilla - you don't watch it for the people, you watch it for the lizard. So Captain Jack - bring it on!

Last time Keith was suppose to do publicity but was swiftly dropped when he confessed to snorting his fathers ashes. He's a liability rather than a essential part of the film.

This one is a spin-off, in a way. It's Sparrow-centric as Bloom & Knightley's characters won't be in it. Depp signed on for a record-smashing 61 million!

I like the pirate movies, and I hope Keith is in it!
I just hope it doesn't make Mick try another film role. Ee-GADS!!!
