Well, well... Some gentle soul shipped me couple cds with Polish bluesman Tadeusz Nalepa (1943-2007).. Thats what I'm hearin' ("Live 1986", wonder if its a boot or official?). Not bad at all. Gonna be listnin to more of this.
Well to be honest I tried listening to the Satanic Sessions set I downloaded a few days ago but it just about put me to sleep. It's just not the same anymore without the help of the old Lysergic acid diethylamide.
Great Jagger effort, there, Sir Edward. BTW eckon all knew Saint Howlin' were named Chester Arthur Burnett and lived 1910-1976.. Actually I was lookin' for Dust My Broom with Howlin'.. But here is Smokestack instead.. [www.lastfm.se]
More on Howlin': "He played with Robert Johnson and Willie Brown in his youth. At 6 foot, 6 inches (198cm) and close to 300 pounds (136 kg), he was an imposing presence with one of the loudest and most memorable voices of all the "classic" 1950's Chicago blues singers. Howlin' Wolf's voice has been compared to "the sound of heavy machinery operating on a gravel road". "
