Rolling Stones - could be better (too many graphics and little information) Mick Jagger - poor (is about what? only the very best of MJ?) Keith Richards - very poor (last news - december 2007, ask keith stopped at 161 a long time ago, and the same old Winos song again and again) Ron Wood - beautiful Bill Wyman - very good and full of information (check the photos from Leah's wedding with him, Ron, Keith, Jeff Beck and others). And a new book from his collection of souvenirs: «The Stones - a history in cartoons»
I never understood why Mick and Keith bothered to uphold a website if they didn't intend to update it frequently. There's nothing more sad then an abandoned website, telling the occasional visotor how great an two year old album is.
The Stones members have tons of stories to tell, music to share, pictures to show and projects to promote (films, books, friends etc.). I would love to create a Mick Jagger website that attracts attention instead of sarcasm. The very best of Mick Jagger: it ould have been a great theme to dig deep in the archives and surprise everyone with obscure footage, clips and stories.
In Jagger terms: more visitors = more possible consumers to Jagger albums, shirts, downloads (why not make music available on the web?) etc.
Bill predictably, has had the best website by far. I think he must have had a lot of personal input to it. I haven't checked it out for some time, but you could read his Diaries- a day by day record. Very detailed-except what he missed out tells you more about him, perhaps. It follows the same attention to detail as his first book e.g. "what time I got up/ went to bed etc" rather than in depth or analytical observation. Still, it gives you an idea of the day to day-often rather routine life of a celebrity. He still has a tremendous work ethic, lives a very full and balanced life. Good on him, I say
