Kind of musical dynasty, the Windings, I get it.
This Thomas is father to the Kasper Winding, who once
were the husband of Brigitte Nielsen.

Kasper played at a few tracks of the Rolling Stones' Tattoo You
(so now er're no longer in a OT thread).. !

M a y b e Thomas also is related to.... the famous jazz bassist Mads Winding?
(MW = Professional at age 16 and house-bassplayer at the legendary, original jazzclub Montmartre, Copenhagen, and the holder of an impressive list of engagements with jazzmasters such as Herbie Hancock - Wayne Shorter - Stan Getz - Gary Burton - Hank Jones - Tony Williams - Dexter Gordon - Ben Webster - Joanne Brackeen - Sonny Stitt - Sir Roland Hanna - Benny Goodman - Dizzy Gillespie - Dollar Brand - Clark Terry - Chet Baker - ------ - Dee Dee Bridgewater - --- - etc, etc.. ) [www.allaboutjazz.com]

And/or to: ......... Hyldemor's Hans Winding? (RIP) [www.hansvinding.dk] (listen)

Hyldemor circa 1979

Sad news. Thomas Winding had the best voice one can imagine. He was an amazing story teller. Not just Super Carla, but also Emil Från Lönneberg, Pippi and Alfons Åberg. He did voice over on Sonja Fra Saxogade too, didn't he?

Luckily B&U have rebroadcasted these great programmes so younger generations like myself had a chance to watch these.

I can still remember watching Super Carla and hearing She's A Rainbow during that.
