SNL '78 question

Was the Stones' 1978 SNL appearance in the fall or spring of that year? I noticed at Borders today there is a 77-78 season SNL dvd set, but it did not list the Stones as one of the musical guests that season... Was it in that season, or the 78-79 season that the Stones appeared? Kudos to anyone who answers this. smiling smiley

That must mean something, though I'm not sure what exactly...

as usual, the RS wouldn't grant permission for use of their SNL appearance...which happens more often than not with these tv shows now appearing on DVD...I looked forward to the box set of the Midnight Special' released last year...not one of the 10 acts I hoped for were included...I would kill to own those early Gabriel/Genesis clips from Midnight Special...unless the band waived all rights at the time of their performance,it won't be in the package..some bands agree for a high price which the studios have to pass as it would be cost prohibitive.....peter

The 1978-1979 season of SNL has not been released yet. It will be out but don't know when.

It is like the worst television concert they have ever done. No wonder why they might not approve of its release!

Now I want to see the July 25th, 1972 matinee, which was filmed in its entirety by ABC TV, released!!!!!

Thanks for the answers! I always thought it was a pretty cool set, would love to see it again, and not on YouTube!

His voice was very shot. Not a great performance unfortunately.

The 3rd season was released last week. The 4th season doesn't have a release date yet. The Rolling Stones appearance will be released on DVD from SNL. They are not going to cut out things.
