What is meant by 'funk', or a 'good funk song'? The Stones are rhythm kings, the swing, sway, rock, bop, and the Watts/Wyman/Keith machine is attitude pure and simple, pure funk be it "Monkey Man" or "Hot Stuff" or "Everything Is Turning To Gold". Is "Brick House" funk? Not. BTW is James' 'Hot Pants' a 'great funk song'? A Classic for sure. Loving cup - the way they build and finally (tanx Charlie) release tension is the definition of the Stones' mastery and FUNK
