Looking forward to the whole album! Still love their sound and Chris' voice.

It sounds a tad too much like the Ju Ju Hounds to me. It's a bit too classic '70's rock for me.

I like the slide but I'm not overly impressed.
maybe the whole album grows.

Will go to the Heineken Music Hall in april. Last time I saw them in Paradiso Amsterdam they put on a great show.

I'm glad you enjoyed them! Any fourth rate cover band can play better than them and that lead singer stinks.

Nice, but with the Black Crowes I miss the outstanding songs. I mean the REALLY outstanding songs. This is no exception. The Crowes were almore more about sound than actual exceptional songs to me. The sound I love, but the true genius in songcraft is missing.

Well, the Crowes have recorded some incredible songs. My Morning Song, Thorn in My Pride and Ballad in Urgency/Wiser Time immediately come to mind. Those REALLY stand out.

And really - it sounds a lot like JuJu hounds and stuff fom that time.

Neverless I like that kind of sound but it can get boring if the songmaterial is not that good!

Btw. I there any Crowes boot where they play Stones songs like Can't you hear me knockin, etc. ?! Anyone ?

There are Instant Live recordings with "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" (Jones Beach 19th July 2006 is a great one). "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" and "Loving Cup" (Fillmore August 2005 with horns!!) are awesome, musically it's far better than the recent Stones versions.

But the Crowes are not just a cover band, a lot of really great songs on every album, even on "Lions".
