I would recommend this book to anyone the least bit interested in the business side of a major rock n roll band (or corporation pretending to be a band).

and i can assume they were bored to tears and utterly miserable because of all the rarities they played that evening?

It was a great set:

Jumping Jack Flash
You Got Me Rocking
Live With Me
Let It Bleed
No Expectations
Rocks Off
Everybody Needs Somebody To Love
Worried About You
Midnight Rambler
Slipping Away
Before They Make Me Run
Start Me Up
It's Only Rock'n Roll
Rock Me Baby
Can't You Hear Me Knocking
Honky Tonk Women
Tumbling Dice
Brown Sugar
Satisfaction (encore)

yes, but how could Paul have endured

Live With Me
Let It Bleed
No Expectations
Rocks Off
Everybody Needs Somebody To Love
Worried About You
Midnight Rambler
Slipping Away
Before They Make Me Run

when all he (and, according to his own idiotic mind, everyone else) wanted to hear was honky tonk women!

I think Paul was making a generalization about the casual fan when he made the statement about wanting to hear "Honky Tonk Women" instead of the new stuff. But interpret it however you like.

He's absolutely right. The problem only is always when I heard a Kiss song I just wanted to turn it off. This reflex works to this day. It would be nice if there was a similar reflex for Paul Stanleys mouthhole - just close when trying to open. "It's possible."
