better on record than live

the "how old were you when you first heard GS" thread inspired me to this:

as i mentioned there, i think that Gimme Shelter is a song that sounds (alot)better on record then live! which is kinda strange because the stones are such a fantastic liveband and alot of their songs are getting better on tour.
interested in your opinion!!!

here's my list of songs that IMO just sound better in record (not at all completed, just what came to my mind right now)

Gimme Shelter
Can't you hear me knocking
Paint it black
@#$%& Blues (very rarely played live)
Sway
Angie

There are many, however, Worried About You ranks as #1 according to the current BCS poll.

I guess that's from the Woodstock rehearsals before the 1978-tour.

The BCS (Bowl Championship Series) poll is a computer generated ranking of college football teams in the U.S. Every year there is controversy regarding this poll because the best team is not necessarily chosen to play for the National Championship. This brings misery on many die hard fans of contending colleges who feel there team is the best. Sometime, maybe not in my lifetime, a playoff system will occur and the best team will be decided by a playoff system such as the NFL. It is a very difficult situation to deal with for many fans that love their school(Be true to your school). I have nothing to worry about because I do not see NC State or Miami ( my locale) being involved such a quagmire anytime soon.

Again I do not prefer the live solos on "Worried about You" on four flicks or ABB DVDs ...that solo on Tatto You is one of the most important in rock and Roll history along with the "Intro' Sweet Jane or Led Zep's BlackDog

I think it must be Rocks Off. Even the Taylor live versions of this never really did anything for me, but oh what a glorious track the Exile version is...

You Cant Always get what you want, Let it Bleed: both sound better in the studio, live versions fail to capture the mood of the songs. Outside of 1969, SYmpathy for the Devil from 1969, I think its another one that doesnt work to well on stage.

I have to disagree with Neighbors in a way.
The live version from Live Licks kicks the the studio version and the live version from 81/82 ass.

Anybody Seen My Baby - I love the studio version. I heard many bootlegs from B2B tour and it always lacked something.

Moonlight Mile - difficult to play live. And live versions lack the atmosphere of the original.

OMG, Yes!!! Is there any more embarassing moment in live recording than Stairway to Heaven? (Well, likely yes, and am sure y'all will comment.) When Plant tries to get all mystical and says "Does anybody remember laughter?" it never fails to make me remember to laugh my *ss off! A true Spinal Tap moment, missing only the tiny little Stonehenge to dance around!
