When was the last time they played it before beacon 06? 81-82?

It was played occasionally on the NS tour

I took a peek at this one while I was walking out. Keith hamming it up on Silver and a dismal UMT did it for me. I did not want to fight the crowds to BART just to hear the war horses, particularly SFTD. I haven't been able to get through that one in years.

I think Imagination is and always has been a complete guitar bore, a low point for the band. Strumming/Weaving at its most uninteresting. Strum it this way, strum that way, strum it slower, strum it faster. Like most SG songs, there is a lot less going on than it seems. But Imagination is one they like to play way too long. It was a good song to leave on.

sounded pretty good to me in the front row of the B stage. No problems on BART after the show either

Once on BTB (Detroit, of course)

11 times on No Security.

I seen them play it at Giants Stadium in September 2006.

I enjoyed it at Oakland last year anyway - made a nice surprise choice and was played with energy and not too long. What was interesting was the fact that MJ was obviously supposed to play guitar (as he did in 78/82 era) but I noticed from my position right near the B-stage that when said instrument was proffered by the roadie he brushed him away!

As that was the first time I personally had seen it performed since 1982 and I can't recall seeing any video footage of its sporadic appearances since, it would be interesting to know if MJ played guitar on those performances?

He generally has played guitar on it, as far as I'm aware.

I noticed he didn't play guitar on Far Away Eyes at Giants Stadium 2006 either.
He ditched the piano for this one on the Bigger Bang tour.
