..but (to state the obvious) Robbie didnt form a 'band'.....
Other examples - Michael jackson/The Jacksons, Brian Wilson/The Beach Boys and (to give an example of a defunct band) Diana Ross/The Supremes
Cant think theres too many who have FORMED a new band that was bigger than their old one, and where both bands are still active.
