Rumor that Mick Jagger will be part of the Ahmet Ertegun show.
He will join Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings.

125 lbs/ticket is not that bad really - this will probably be an all day event, no? If Zep is supposedly playin a full 2 hour set, how long is everyone else playing?

It wouldn't be a surprise to see Mick contribute something to a show in the memory of Ahmet Ertegun... especially if the Stones aren't themselves involved in any such tribute to a man who had their friendship and great respect.
In other circumstances it wouldn't be a surprise to see Keith or Charlie turn up unbilled too...but with the focus being so much on the "Zep reunion" , I doubt the politics would allow it.

Wyman will say "And now Mick's going to sing a little song I wrote, it's called Jumping Jack Flash."

"It wasn't my fault ... liquors drunkened me!" Homer Simpson

Jagger not to join Wyman onstage at 'Led Zeppelin' concert

London, September 14 : Rock star Mick Jagger's camp has denied that he will be joining former 'Rolling Stones' bassist Bill Wyman onstage at the 'Led Zeppelin' reunion concert on 26 November.

The show will take place at O2 Arena in London. Its promoter Harvey Goldsmith had sparked speculations that Jagger and Wyman could share the stage at the one-off show by saying that the door was "always open".

But a source from Jagger's camp has now clarified that the star wants the show purely to be a 'Led Zeppelin' gig.

"The band want the show to be just about Led Zep and nothing to do with the Stones," the Mirror quoted the source as saying.

The concert is being staged in honour of Atlantic Records' boss Ahmet Ertegun, and rumours began spreading because the 'Rolling Stones' are signed to record label in the US.

Footage of Jagger behind goldsmith at the launch also fanned the speculations.

Is there any talk of broadcasting this great show?
The object is to raise money for a nice charity, so why not make bazillions with a worldwide broadcast?
20 bucks a head?

I'm in!

According to our local Classic Rock Station (KLOS _ Jim Ladd), as of Friday night, there were 20,000,000 (yes, 20 million) bids for tickits, WOW!

The number came from one source and every magazine and paper took it...I mean 20 million, do you know how long that takes...every system would die down hence who had the chance to count the bids?

Was I naive in thinking the show was about Ahmet Ertegun, not "just about Led Zep"?

I do understand a Mick appearance could upstage the Zeppelin reunion just as the Zeppelin reunion could upstage Mick. In either case, its not a good idea. However, I love that the articles continue to state the Stones are signed to Atlantic Records in the US. Unless something hasn't been announced yet, the Stones haven't been Atlantic recording artists since 1984.

I read in the paper to-day (if you can believe it ) that it was not 20,000,000 but 120 million hits, I think a few people like them.

Zep spokesman says no recording...I imagine they don't want expectations getting in the way, given decades of built up hopes and expectations.
I also heard on the radio Mick will be joining up with Ron & Keith at the New Barbarians show(s), as will Bob Dylan and Rod Stewart.
