I like the ABB stage very much, like Voodoo Lounge.

The Bridges stage had 2 inflatables in the US, but only one in 98/99. The bridges was a great idea, put the right side of the stage was kinda empty...

Licks : funny to see an adaptative screen, but otherwise, nothing special.

Steel Wheels : Massive, nice, but the screens were this stage's weak point.

The No Security stage was great.
The arena stages of the Licks and ABB Tour were pretty similar.

I won't rate them. They all have their highs and lows.

1. Licks - I loved the screen a lot, the stage was not so big but the screen was perfect with great shots
2. ABB - professional for a Rolling Stones stadium experience
3. Steel Wheels - gigantic which was fine for Mick

I was blown away by the Steel Wheels stage in 89. There was no precedent for that elaborate and massive stage. I recall being let down a bit by the Voodoo Lounge stage. The Stones set the bar so high with the 89 tour.

Yeah...the Steel Wheels was definitely the biggest...just massive...

I was completely disappointed with the ABB stage...the screen was small and the stage was odd to look at...I can't believe they said that was their biggest stage...no way was it bigger than Steel Wheels.

Personally, I liked the stages at the Orpheum, Tower and Wiltern theatre.

Why stop in 2005 ? There was another stage in 2006 in South America. And I liked the ABB stage in 2007 better - without the people upstairs.

Agreed. Stages don't really impress me. For a band like Floyd that are sort of putting out a visual show cause of their style of music, these big stages are much more effective.

I liked the Voodoo stage and the Licks better - quite simple setups. B2B looked like Divali to me.

i loved the Voodoo lounge stage - especially when the cobra blew his fire and everyone within 500 yards could feel the heat....
I liked ABB stage before it was used - with the black and yellow checks painted on the floor that the stones had covered...thought this was very effective...
PS.. im sure it was ABB...

I think the best ever was the Star stage used on the 75/76 World Tour. Hearing Keith open the set with the incredible opening to Honky Tonk Women and having cheeky Jagger appear at the top of one of the unfolding stage petals was the best intro to a show I've ever seen.

Steel Wheels.

I hated the Bigger Bang stage! It was something of a cross between a collapsed multi-story car park and a big cake with a slice taken out.

Waste of money...hey, and guess who paid for the freakin' thing. We did.

Thank you erikjjf!

But was this stage the same that was used during the outdoor european leg?

(if so I am sure I drank one too much in that boiling hot weekend in Stuttgart ...)

Give me the stage for the arena and theatre shows during the Licks tour anytime! No need to gaze at a stage when you can see the boys doing what they do best!

Do you mean to say that the Steel Wheels stage was even bigger than the ABB Stage??? I can't fathom that!!! The ABB Stage was ENORMOUS!! I'd never seen anything like it!! And every time I saw it, I was still awestruck.

No, they used the outdoor stage from 97/98 when they returned to Europe in 99.

all great stages, but where is the Super Bowl stage? Need to extend the time frame through 2006.

Quite true! That superbowl stage was probably the best of them all.

>> sure was a bright beast <<

smile: "bee-like" was the descriptor of choice, wasn't it?
that's a sweet scene in the FF documentary ... one of many

meanwhile, i'll vote for the Urban Jungle stage, since it looks like no one else has;
i liked the vegetation, and that crazee street-fighting dog logo was great - very spirited :E
