I bloody hope they do tour...the odds for getting into this gig have to be at least 1000/1. I haven't even got as far as the registration page yet....

Not on an auction site they won't. Look, it doesn't mean that some people that are inclined to try and profit from this show won't be able to sell one or both tickets one way or the other, but it at least closes one particular option - that of ebay and similar such sites. In my opinion, that ain't a bad thing, and long overdue. It's a step in the right direction. It's hard to devise a system that's entirely foolproof, but rather than try and pick holes in it, I prefer to celebrate the fact that AT LAST there's some slight level of recognition by a promoter that under the normal scheme of things a lot of normal fans get royally f***ed. And so in that respect anything that can be done, and what this promoter is proposing is a "start", is to be welcomed. Wouldn't you rather have a FAIR chance at getting tickets for this show at FACE VALUE in a ballot, rather than sitting at home looking at the ebay listing and at prices that would bring tears to your eyes ? I know I would.

Somehow it is horrible to see the old grannys play and tour again. I mean Plant looks like a really old grandmother...horrible.
I don'T know its different with Stones. Dylan is ok, the Who strange as well.

Ertegun was killed and died at a Stones (Beacon) show last year...perhaps they're embarrassed about that incident? Not a bad way to go though, see the Stones at Beacon and then *Kaput*

I have also heard that many fans who saw the Stones Beacon shows felt they had died and gone to heaven anyway...

Well, if you listen to Page's/Zep's 70's studio recordings, his guitar work was quite good, many tasty licks and crispy finger pickin'. However, he was sloppier than a junior high school cafeteria sloppy joe when he performed live in concert.

Well, I'll have to listen to it again...but typically, yes, Jimmy Page and his porky chops LIVE in concert sound sloppier than my 18 month old daughter's diaper after she's exported her "baby stew" with wee bits o' corn...

I do like Page's studio work though...the overdubs, retakes and general "studio magic" worked well...
