RIP. He was a great Jazz musician (Weather Report with Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius!) and one of Austria's rare internationally respected musicians. Saw him in concert 2x times, he was great.

Just opened this up and cant believe joe has passed away. Really sad news.

On the off chance i went to see weather report and was hesitating outside the venue and happaned to bump into my old school friend who was going in to see them, at the time there was only £5 tickets left which believe it or not was the top price to pay, after talking to my friend who told me it would be well worth it and of course he was right and not being used to that kind of music it blew my mind away as you could tell they was brilliant musicians.

RIP Joe i will play a few cds tonight.

He was 75 years old and remained active as a musician til the end.
His spirit will live on in his jazzclub "birdland".

Miles Davis is the man. It sucks that another musical great has left for the big gig in the sky. I m going too see Joe s buddy J. McLaughlin on the 27th in NYC. Jazz fans should look into tickets.
