Rollingstones.com down. Are we expecting news?

Impossible to access rollingstones.com this morning. Is that because we're going to have news today?
And I just discovered that Keitrichards.com is down, too... What does this mean? Good news, or bad news?

Must be about time to renew your membership? $100 just incase something happens.

I think I've bust a button on my trousers....

My renewal came up in July. I wrote them a letter stating I did not want to renew my membership and that I was STILL WAITING for my "gifts" promised me when I renewed in July 06. They replied that the "gifts" would ship any day....that was 8 weeks ago. Now the Stones come along hinting at new shows in the states this spring and I'm wondering if I did the right thing by not renewing. If they play just arenas it could be a tough ticket to get w/o a membership.

You don't need to "take down" a web site to make updates. These guys are professional. Most US sites do maintenance at night which is morning time in Europe. Mainteance is all sorts of work like backup, server and software updates etc but not really related to news and site contents.

here's a funny idea.. why don't they actually turn the $100 payment into an actual proper fan club, like the name suggests.

Then it can still offer content and be worthwhile joining.

They could do things like DVDs of the pro-shot TV broadcast shows exclusive for members.

Make some of the virtual ticket stuff available to download and exclusive to members.

Maybe have a webcast or Q+A with a band member.. then there would be a reason to join.

if they don't tour next year what do you get for your money ?

Seems like each time they are about to announce news the site goes down so who knows. Yes it shouldn't have to go down when they are doing something to the site but it always happens.

I never used my membership to get tickets, actually got better seats just going straight to ticketmaster. Were people able to get their money back that didn't use their ticket codes, I am still waiting..

I opted not to renew for this year and I might change my quick with the imminent tour coming. I have received my hat and ID Card, which is quite cool, with a note indicating that the DVD was coming soon.
