if i recall correctly, it was the 2012 show at the boston orpheum; the famous Last Stand. Taylor was back in the band since 2010, ronnie moved over to bass just for this number, keef drunkedly shooed all of the backup musicians off the stage, jagger called the five into a long 2 minute huddle after the last song of the show......when the band came out the huddle, everyone was total business and determination. Jagger told the audience, "well, this is it, then" and grabbed a blues harp and swigged some water. a stir erupted backstage and woodie cracked up, walked to the wings and handed the bass to someone in the shadows and came back out and put on his strat. keef shook his head, then gave in and brought out bill wyman, who was walking feebly at this point, assisted by his young 47 year old girlfriend. the place erupted.
bill sat down on a chair and then they launched into a 23 minute version of MR, after which 2 of the band members collapsed onstage. the performance was immortalized on the Everybody's Got To Go bootleg whose cover featured the bloodstained harmonica and woodie's bloodstained fretboard lying on the Orpheum floor after the show. jagger later referred to that MR as the stones' "famous final stand". although various surviving band members would make occasional appearances here and ther after that, it was the last time any Rolling Stone ever played that song and the last time that more than 3 of them appeared together. charlie watts took a plane to london the next morning and never played live again, saying, "there is nothing for me to achieve after that version of MR. i've been waiting for this since autumn '73 when we played brussels."
