From what I've seen: - L.A. Staples Benefit/Clinton concert '03 - front row B-stage.

From what I've heard: - too many to mention, but Brussels of course.
And Ya Ya's, yes. And the studio version - classic all the way.

Woh!!! I've never heard Keith singing on MR. Would love to hear that one.

I think I've bust a button on my trousers....

Last night at the 02, Aug 23, we got a real classic version in which the mid-song engine like weaving between Keith and Ronnie really took off. A version to cherish.

I'd agree last nights version was absolutely spot. One of the highlights of the night for me.

I don't think that's right. That particular version he's speaking of is the Brussels '73 version that everybody loves. And Keith doesn't sing on it.

Hello Everyone..THE GREATEST VERSION OF MIDNIGHT RAMBLER IS ON THE BRUSSELLS BOOT..THE ONE WITH THE MICK TAYLOR SCREAMING VIBRATO GUITAR SOLO IN THE MIDDLE JAM SESSION....THAT GUITAR MAKES MY HAIR STAND UP EVERY TIME...RONNIE CAN NEVER COMPARE TO MR. MICK TAYLOR...ALTHOUGH HE GAVE HIM A RUN FOR HIS MONEY DURING THE FIRST FEW YEARS...BUT THEN FELL UNDER THE SPELL OF KEITH WHO HAS STATED THAT HE WILL NEVER BE UPSTAGED BY ANOTHER GUITAR PLAYER AGAIN...I LOVE KEITH...HE'S THE HEART AND SOUL OF THE BAND...BUT IT WASN'T MICK TAYLOR'S FAULT THAT KEITH WAS A MESS DURING THOSE YEARS!!!

if i recall correctly, it was the 2012 show at the boston orpheum; the famous Last Stand. Taylor was back in the band since 2010, ronnie moved over to bass just for this number, keef drunkedly shooed all of the backup musicians off the stage, jagger called the five into a long 2 minute huddle after the last song of the show......when the band came out the huddle, everyone was total business and determination. Jagger told the audience, "well, this is it, then" and grabbed a blues harp and swigged some water. a stir erupted backstage and woodie cracked up, walked to the wings and handed the bass to someone in the shadows and came back out and put on his strat. keef shook his head, then gave in and brought out bill wyman, who was walking feebly at this point, assisted by his young 47 year old girlfriend. the place erupted.

bill sat down on a chair and then they launched into a 23 minute version of MR, after which 2 of the band members collapsed onstage. the performance was immortalized on the Everybody's Got To Go bootleg whose cover featured the bloodstained harmonica and woodie's bloodstained fretboard lying on the Orpheum floor after the show. jagger later referred to that MR as the stones' "famous final stand". although various surviving band members would make occasional appearances here and ther after that, it was the last time any Rolling Stone ever played that song and the last time that more than 3 of them appeared together. charlie watts took a plane to london the next morning and never played live again, saying, "there is nothing for me to achieve after that version of MR. i've been waiting for this since autumn '73 when we played brussels."

Brussels 73 and @#$%& Blues are incredible, as is YaYas, but I think that MR 69 is a different song than MR 73.

For video versions, the Atlantic City 89 version, where Keith puts his hand on Jagger's shoulder during the "quiet" section is priceless, as it is as if he is saying, "OK, boy, I've done my bit, now it's up to you......."

i know that there are many acclaimed versions but - the greatest CD or DVD version as voted by fans would not better the version that i saw live...
what im saying is, i would rather see a "standard" version in real life than listen to a recorded "better" one.

on that notion, DON VALLEY 1999 was my favourite..

Agree with Bassplayer about MR Brussels 73 being too fast. My favourite are Ft. Worth 72 (Philly Special), MSG 26/7/72 and the best of them all: London 73 (the one available as mono sbd, can't recall the actual date, sept 8th or 9th)

The Brussels version is amazing and features stunning playing by the whole band, but, as said before, the tempo is much too fast which even gives it a touch of trivialness.

Ya-Ya's version is my fave by a mile, the menace, the weight, the sound, the interplay. That moment when they speed it up for the first time is still the most exciting moment in the whole Stones catalogue IMO.

No one's mentioned Paris 7th June 1976 (as included in the Aux Abbatoirs TV broadcast Pt. 2 and on the original 'From San Francisco' To Paris vinyl boot and others since) - great interplay between KR & RW........

love the threatening menacing groove on Ya-Ya's...Keith's choppy rhythm...Charlie's work on hi-hat and snare in the bit with Taylor's "chukka-chukka" rhythm work is so gloriously effective, thats why i love his drumming...so simple, yet at the same time so damn incredible...

never listened to Brussels that much, but agree it is a real frenzy - Keith's rhythm work really is astonishing, Taylor kicks into guitar 'hero' mode (delicious slide guitar work - ive really begun to appreciate how amazing he is in that department too) and Jagger's not yet overbearing performance is true showmanship

saying that, i really enjoyed MSG Four Flicks...Charlie was awesome that night and clearly enjoying himself, Keith attacked those opening chords with relish (and i loved the bluesy fills before it all kicked off)...i think this is one song they find hard to screw up...
