"Claudine: Accidents Will Happen"

Isn't this a classic boot? I don't have all the tracks, but right now I'm listening to the extended version of "Send It To Me". "Summer Romance" (long version) up next. The post-"Some Girls" Stones are so interesting in that they continued to take then-current musical trends and turn them inside-out. Hell, I even like the extended version of "Emotional Rescue".

From a bassplayer standpoint, we got some really intriguing basslines from Bill and Ronnie. I think someone was listening to what Sting was doing with the Police and took it to another level.

Actually the 1977 to 1979 period is one of my favourites,
their creative output was huge then.

Agree that this era was incredible--they were really at the top of their game and Ronnie's versatility and having Mick on guitar really gave them a full sound while retaining the tight Stones groove courtesy of Bill and Charlie--on that boot they really swing. Great stuff--think I need to cue it up!

Did you Know that Claudine Longet is a singer and that she actually did LSTNT?

Let's Spend The Night Together.

It is a but uncommon for Mick to write about an actual person (I Think). Did he meet Claudine, know her? Or was he just intrigued by the story of the alledged accidental killing of her handsome boyfriend, champion skier Vladimir "Spider" Sabich?
