HI vintage stone ,thanx again. But at the end of this tour with shows at least in front of 30000 people ,I see no chance for your concept.

I think that everyone wants to see the Stones but it's not everyones favorite band.SO when they see prices like that they won't buy any tickets.I wouldn't pay 150 euros for any other band.Maximum 90 for fos.

a guy of the crew, who´s with the band since 5 tours on the road told me:
they never like play stadiums.
so, my list could be possibile, but only after a break of 1 or 2 years.

1. to make a new recording by the band

2. to earn some money to spend it for the shows by the fans

No they're just taking a pause due to some construction work at the field, I think.
But off course we must have at least 2 shows in Denmark next time...129.000 tickets sold for 2 shows within a year, that's 2,4% of the population in the country. Just work that out if it were in Germany with their population.
So more semi-sold shows in Germany, you can move your asses up here ;-)

Nope...from what I've heard they've had it...especially now, that every little town in Denmark is trying the same concept *lol*

Also, they took quite a beating when it was decided that the proceeds did not go to charity as stated so was not WAT-exempted ;-)

I think Horsens did as much - and more - as could be expected with that formula and now has established themselves on the map.

But, maybe, Jumpingkentflash knows more?? He lives there ;-)

Well my friend, I read the Danish papers as well. But if Horsens won't be able to do it, I'm sure Herning or Aarhus will.
Or maybe a "small" concert here overlooking the sea ;-)

Not exactly sure of the 100 club's capacity, but I think it's named after the amount of people that will actually fit in.
Therefore....

If they took $1m each for the Barcelona gig (700 punters), how much would a ticket for the 100 club gig work out at?

OK, on a serious note, didn't they play Shepherd's Bush for about a tenner a throw a few years back?

They sure did...the largest audience in Europe on this tour. In fact only the Copacabana were a had a wee bit larger audience ;-)

Ahhh...yes...if one had only been closer to the b-stage....but one was in Copenhagen. So having been within 2 meters of the Stones - I'd have to say it's been my personal best ...and I've seen them all since 1990 (Danish concerts that is) ;-)

Me too...all Danish concert since 1990 :-)
But still the sound in Parken isn't the best, you've got to admit. Anyway it was still a great show, but the sound in Horsens were far better.

If I went to a concert for the sound I would get a seat and place myself correctly and whatnot. If you want the sound - go home and listen to the CD's or LP's ;-)

Anyways - I had my kid of 11 with me in Horsens - but not in Parken so was able to better move around without a thousand thoughts (Horsens was not for kids!!)

Plus - like I stated earlier - I was in the first line to the b-stage - HEAVEN!!

They could have played the phonebook - I would still have loved it ;-)

But a fantastic show it was, just like all the other Stones shows I've been to since 1982 :-)

Ahhh.....also at Gothenburg?? Me too....great show ...but afterwards I kind of felt that the J. Geils Band had upstaged them (Kim Larsen was a real bore, though)

Yeah the J. Geils Band were great. Kim Larsen did his shitty american stuff and only saved the day when Franz Beckerlee took to the stage for "Hvad gør vi nu, lille du" :-)

Yes!! I remember Peter Wolf jumping across the stage like a demented Kermit the Frog *lol*

They were so great and nothing like their big hit at the time - "Centerfold"

Did you see them Saturday or Sunday? (on the way out I was offered tickets for next day for about 50 Danish kroner - I'll never know why I turned that offer down??)

They haven't had it. It's just that Frank Panduro isn't the concert organizer anymore, so they'e re-thinking their strategy. I mean: It doesn't get any bigger than The Stones. In fact I said this to the local radio when interviewed after getting the first tickets for the Horsens concert: "Getting The Stones to play in Horsens is a smart move on behalf of the concert arranger. By that they're skipping the expenses of getting Bruce Springsteen or U2 to play here. Everybody knows that there's no reason to get those two acts now, since they can't top getting The Stones". Cheeky really, but it's what I think.

> Also, they took quite a beating when it was
> decided that the proceeds did not go to charity as

Not exactly their fault. "Skat" (Danish taxes) gave them a promise not to pay taxes of the concert, but then showed up and told them that they had to do it anyway. That was when the ball started rolling. They got the promise (On paper I might add) almost two weeks before the concert was announced (Dec. 15th 2005). Then DR (Radio Denmark) and TV2 (Biggest TV station in Denmark) heard about it and dug up the story. The government thought that they'd look bad because a lot of money was involved. So they showed up in Horsens and told the concert arranger (Eigils Musikforening) that they still had to pay ("Gallup democracy" anyone?).

Yep. It's been a nice change for sure.

J. Geils in Gothenburg 1982:

Also, the fact about 2,4 % of the danish population being in Horsens for the Stonesgig does not ring true. Loads of swedes were there due to the fact of the cancelled show. Loads of other nationalities too.

Yeah. There were TONS of other people there (Than Danish). It's bollocks to say that it was all Danes. I think that number you mention came from some Danish tabloid, and they know nothing about anything. What I do know though, is that about 20.000 of the crowd came from Horsens. That's one third of the city's population.

That's too bad. Since that probably only leaves Parken as the only place where the big acts are going to play in Denmark, and soundwise Parken is IMO one of the worst places to see a rock concert.

Well Horsens will return and there's Herning and Aarhus. But Parken HAS a horrible sound.

Not a prayer. Most of those secondary (or less) markets have seen their last tour

They wont do any more mega-tours and if they do, it'll be short runs in the main markets where they can make the most money.

I think Slane yesterday was their last large scale outdoor show.

I think you're right. Don't expect them to be back. One should think that they've made the money they need by now.
