and your point is what? What does that prove?

Youve been here for five minutes and already youre complaining about someone who has been a valuable contributor to this site and to the magazine for many years.

Thats the issue. Not what an uber-fan you happen to be,

You've no class.

I saw an interview of him on CNN about a year or so ago during a US leg of the tour.

Seems like a nice guy and a big fan. The story on CNN was about how he followed around the band etc.

I'm not sure why someone would start a thread bashing the guy.

Me neither, why bash him? Perhaps is chippydodo an alias for dean Goodman and he wants to know if we like his reviews.

Yes I do!

his most recent review in italy very good; very descriptive, right up front witness with a lot of show experience, tells of an unusual seating and attendance sitch there; and damn good reportage...tho the music itself hasn't been reviewed there...i will check the thread for that show.

I don't always agree with his reviews but he wrote a very funny article describing how he was totally addicted to the Stones and travels all over the world to see them..... and how he was totally obsessed and the Stones were the most important thing in his life. He made me feel I was not even an addict!!!

Hi all,

I think that some reports appeal more than others, but everybody writing here makes his/her effort to do a contribution.

So as I am just one of the thousands and thousands of fans all over the world,
I like to read reports from shows and all the information-ideas-advices-experiences-reports and so on that hard-core fans, as Mr. Goodman, write down in this forum for everybody interested in the Boyz.

You might have been a Stones fan for 41 years so tell me how does that qualify you to bash someone with you're opening post? I happen to like Deans reviews.

Actually this thread ought to be closed. It's attacking a single person, and it's not nice. It's not the kind of forum we want. And it's totally against BV's rules. I've taken the freedom of reporting this message (the opening post)to the webmaster.

You're right, gstone.

Anyway, there doesn't seem to be one single person here that shares chippydodos opinion. This, expectedly, turned against him quickly. And rightly so.

The initial post of this thread is against the rules of IORR. You should not attack or offend individuals on IORR. But you know I asked Dean if we should keep this thread open and he said yes.

In general, please do not attack the messenger if you don't like the message. Write your own review. Or read a book. Or do something else. Thank you.

Well, Dean. I did not agree with everything in your review. But you're a great sport. I think we spoke in Rome... (We're two people: Italian surgeon (black hair) and female red head with a camera that was far too big to handle. (but security did not even check bags...)

I'm glad Dean takes the time to fill us in on what happened. If U don't like his reviews, don't read 'em.

Good call on his part. I think its quite clear from the responses that the dodo has been rendered extinct.

I am pretty sure that Mick's coat was described as "sloppy labia"

...yes, it was sloppy, not oversized.....

perhaps so, but was probably enlargened, (ie. 'oversized') directly prior to getting sloppy...
...i don't have inside knowledge of his editing process so that's just a guess, (based on personal observation.)

I have read some of his reviews. No big deal, reviews are just opinions. But what's the deal, does he just post reviews and not on the messsage board? I think it's a little unfair for him to get to post his opinions without anybody being able to question him on it.

I give up ,surrender, did the wrong thing ,my apology to Dean and BV. I admit bottom line is Dean is traveling Europe doing what I wish I was doing while I work every day in a heat wave in New York. Again sorry, last word from me on this one. Chip

Some people write offensive posts.....and some people are easily offended.

Obviously, I don't endorse personal attacks....but I also don't
think we should be policing each other or "reporting messages".

Simply ignore the threads that "offend" you.
People have the write to say what they want...no matter how lame.

Ultimately, if BV doesn't want it on his site...he can delete it.

IORR............but I like it!

You might agree or disagree with Dean, but he goes to all these shows and takes the time to submit reviews.

He's no arm-chair complainer like some on this site. He's there night after night.

I've read alot of his reviews over the years and he seems to be a true fan who's willing to call it like he sees/hears it, good or bad.

I'd rather read that kind of reporting than someone who's biased with either rose-tinted glasses or an axe to grind.

Thanks Dean!

i love dean close as much as gazza :-) ...and that´s a lot

..and by the way, the field swarming in rome was in my opinion a very cool thing. even if i had a very good seat (front row ronnies side), it wAS defintly better for the mood of the show when no gestapo security is patroulling in front of you like at the seated frankfurt show.

Ohhhh . . . a SLOPPY labia.

I still can't quite get the visual but I do like the way "sloppy labia" rolls off the tongue. If I were a songwriter, that term would be all that I would need to get a song started.

Re: Dean Goodman

....monkeylad, if you had seen the photo of Mick's jacket to which the labia description was directed, then you would understand exactly what Dean meant........I can't remember for which show he made that comment......sometime in the fall of 2006, I think....maybe summer....
